CALL Scotland’s accessible digital versions of Scottish Book Trust’s Bookbug P1 Family bag 2025 books are available to download for learners in Scotland NOW!

The 3 books will be gifted to every P1 child in Scotland in time for Book Week Scotland, which runs from the 17th to 23rd of November, 2025. These digital versions are available for learners in Scotland, who have a Print Disability and can be accessed from the 'Books for All' Database.

Our Story

CALL Scotland is a small unit within the Moray House School of Education and Sport, University of Edinburgh.

We help children and young people across Scotland to overcome disability and barriers to learning created by their environment, and to fulfil their potential. CALL (Communication, Access, Literacy and Learning) is both a Service and a Research Unit. Service activity is limited by the amount of staff time available, but is open to anyone in Scotland concerned with communication difficulties, particularly in a learning context.

We've been around since 1983 working as a Research and Development centre as well as a working Service unit. Both elements are necessary and important - they inform, enrich and support each other.
