Our residents recently rang in the New Year at Cramond Residence with a lovely celebration. With balloons, fun photo props and plenty of delicious cakes to enjoy, it was a relaxed and joyful way to welcome the year ahead together.

Moments like these are all about sharing laughter, creating memories and starting the year on a positive note.

Looking back over the festive season here at Cramond, it’s been a truly special time for everyone 🎄 From carol singing with the Cramond Kirk and St Kentigerns choir to Christmas music on the piano (with residents joining in on their own instruments) there’s been plenty of shared joy. We loved welcoming the Therapets (with Doc the dog dressed for the occasion), heading out together to see the Christmas lights, and singing along to festive favourites.

Highlights also included a Christmas party with a surprise visit from Santa and his elf, lovely performances from our friends the Forget Me Notes, and our much-loved Christmas Jumper Day and photo shoot, bringing staff and residents together. Creative moments continued with residents making festive table posies, enjoying short stories and poems in the library, and sharing wishes and positive thoughts on our Christmas wish tree. It’s been a season full of warmth, laughter, and togetherness.

December has been full of lovely festive moments at Cramond Residence. 🎄 We began the month with our annual Christmas tree light switch-on, where one of our residents had the special job of turning on the lights. Everyone came together to enjoy mulled wine, hot chocolate and mince pies, while the Fettes students filled the room with Christmas carols.

Our residents also enjoyed a festive afternoon out at the Cramond Kirk Christmas service, catching up with old friends and sharing a buffet lunch together. To round it all off, there was plenty of fun decorating gingerbread men, which were then shared around the floors - a simple but joyful way to start the celebrations. Each year, Cramond Residence donates Christmas trees, sweets and goodie bags to support families in our community. This year, we were pleased to gift two 4ft Christmas trees, complete with lights and baubles, to disadvantaged families with young children in Edinburgh. 🎄 The smiles and excitement from the families made it all the more special.

Our residents have enjoyed a lovely mix of musical moments recently. 🎶 Hugo the harpist filled the home with his beautiful playing, and some of our residents also took a trip to Greyfriars Kirk to hear the young children sing and play in the orchestra. Cramond Residence is Edinburgh’s newest and finest care home, which opened in Autumn 2018.

Located to the north west of Edinburgh, in the tranquil village of Cramond, it is easily accessible across the Lothians and Fife. It will offer exceptional standards of care, a wide range of facilities and the latest in healthcare technology. All in all, it is a very special place to live.

The Residence is uniquely designed to promote community living with a touch of added luxury. There are nine unique houses each with eight or nine deluxe or premium bedrooms, all with access to lots of shared living spaces indoors and out and fantastic hotel services.
