Well done Sandra and Bankole! 🙌

We’re thrilled to celebrate two of our wonderful Lanarkshire Care Assistants whose dedication and compassion have truly made a difference.

Sandra consistently goes the extra mile for her clients, always receiving praise from those she supports. New staff members have shared how confident and reassured they feel when shadowing her, appreciating her deep understanding of each service user's routine, preferences, and needs.

Bankole has been an outstanding member of staff who has went above and beyond that last few weeks with new service users in the area. He has ensured that person centred care was given to each new client and followed up any medication changes or changes that we should be aware of. Families and staff members have said that he has been an outstanding member of staff during this time and has been providing an excellent quality of care. Families also stated he is well mannered and has a great personality and has made a difference to their loved ones care. Bankole is a staff member that always has a smile on his face and is always happy to help when needed!

Thank you both for embodying the values we strive for every day. Your impact is felt far and wide, and we’re so lucky to have you! 💜

On the final day of Professional Care Workers' Week, in conjunction with The Care Workers' Charity, we are celebrating "Wear it Orange Day"!

Tomorrow, the 19th of September, in aid of the Care Workers' Charity, we are asking all colleagues, service users and friends of the service to Wear it Orange!

This is a fun, simple, and powerful way to show your support for your fellow care workers who dedicate their lives to supporting others. Whether it’s a bright outfit, orange accessories, or face paint – your splash of orange makes a statement.

How to Take Part
🍊 Wear orange – dress up on 19th September in your boldest orange.
🍊 Host a fun event – try a dress-up day, bake sale, or orange-themed competition.
🍊 Donate – take part by donating as little as £1 each.

We’ve received some wonderful feedback from a service user’s niece. Our Care Assistants, Hameedah and Colet have been praised for the outstanding care they provide to one of our service users.

Our service users niece, Lisa, noted that:

“Collette and Hammedah in particular have gone above and beyond, staying after hours to offer support when they have their own families to get home to and the working day is finished. The work done by your team is so valuable, many could not survive without it.

"I wanted to acknowledge their hard work and efforts. It is truly appreciated and means so much! All of the staff work tirelessly a deserve recognition for the huge impact they have on the lives of those they support & their wider families!”

Falls are the most common cause of injury-related hospital admissions in older adults Most falls are preventable with the right support, environment, and activity.

As part of Falls Prevention Awareness Week (Sept 15–19), we’re sharing simple ways our Carers can help reduce fall risk with our service users:

✅ Encourage regular exercise to improve strength and balance
👀 Support regular eye and hearing checks
👟 Promote safe footwear and home environments
💬 Talk to clients about any changes in health or mobility and report this to the office

Our Training Dept 🤓📚

As part of Professional Care Workers' Week, we’d like to take a moment to celebrate the incredible work of the individuals who train our Carers, our Trainers!

Below is some fabulous feedback each Trainer received from their trainees recently:
Jayne - "She was brilliant, the humour she incorporated in her training helped to make the knowledge transfer effective."

Paulene - "Paulene was extremely helpful and engaged, very knowledgeable and passionate showcase the importance of work carers provide to communities."

Professional Care Workers’ Week 🙌

As part of Professional Care Workers’ Week, initiated by The Care Workers' Charity, we’re shining a light on the powerful impact our care workers make every day.

Today, we’d like to recognise our Care Assistants in our West of Scotland team, starting with Kirkintilloch.

Over the past few weeks this area has been challenging due to staff holidays, sickness and staff being held up in emergencies with other clients. All staff within that area have displayed a positive culture by working as a team and showing compassion towards their colleagues and clients by ensuring no clients care was compromised and as a team they supported each other.

They have supported office staff by helping with coordinating which has been very much appreciated, especially at weekend on-call when there is only one member of staff responsible for the whole service and staffing.

We'd also like to mention Kayleigh F, one of our dedicated Care Assistants based in Milngavie. Kayleigh has been supporting a long-term client through a challenging time, offering not just practical help but genuine compassion and trust.

Thanks to Kayleigh’s consistent support and gentle approach, the client has felt safe enough to accept help for the first time, which is a huge step forward. The difference Kayleigh has made in just a few weeks has been truly inspiring.

Thank you, West of Scotland team, for going above and beyond and showing what caring with compassion really looks like. 🌟
