Collagen Lift & Menopause
Collagen is the scaffolding of the skin and it rapidly depletes during menopause. This means the skin will be less supple, won’t bounce back as it once did, and it may develop a “crepey” texture. Areas can begin to sag, causing droopy jowls and under-eye bags.

SkinBase Collagen Lift is the perfect solution. The radio-frequency energy sculpts, tones, tightens, firms, and lifts the skin to achieve a more youthful appearance. As an added bonus, is a soothing, relaxing treatment, perfect for clients to enjoy a bit of “me time” while achieving long-lasting results.

Collagen Lift Benefits
Help your clients understand the benefits of incorporating Collagen Lift into their menopausal skincare routine. Collagen Lift is a treatment they can count on throughout each stage of menopause, to ensure confidence stays high.

Incredibly effective – For some people, collagen fibres will respond instantly to treatment for an immediately visible tightening effect. For others, it will take more than 1 treatment for the skin to show visible results. All clients are different, and genetics plays a part. However the client's skin responds, after a course of treatments they will achieve fabulous results that last for up to two years.
Collagen production – Stimulates the body’s natural wound-healing response, flooding the skin with fresh collagen to reduce sagging and wrinkles.
Hyaluronic acid boost – Encourages the production of this natural “moisture magnet,” perfect for dehydrated, menopausal skin.
Perfect for the face and body – As the skin reacts to hormone fluctuations during menopause, it is not only the face that feels the effects. CL is effective anywhere the skin has lost firmness, from the jowls to the arms or stomach.

How Working Out Affects Your Skin

Your skin reflects your overall health, and exercise is key. By understanding how working out affects your skin, both positively and negatively, and taking simple steps to rebalance, you can enjoy the benefits of an active lifestyle without sacrificing your complexion.

How Exercise Benefits Your Skin
Anything that promotes a healthy circulation also helps to keep your skin healthy and vibrant. 30 minutes of exercise a day is all that is necessary to significantly improve overall circulation.

Improves Oxygen to Skin
Exercise gets the blood pumping! This blood flow carries oxygen and nutrients around the body to the skin, while also carrying waste products, toxins, and free radicals away from skin cells. Oxygen and nutrients are essential for healthy cells and also contribute to the production of elastin and collagen, for a youthful, glowing appearance.

Boosts Collagen Production
Research suggests collagen production can be positively affected by exercise. As discussed, exercise increases blood flow, contributing to collagen production. However, this is not the only way that collagen production is triggered. Some exercise activities, such as weight training, release a growth hormone from the pituitary gland, which stimulates fibroblast cells, contributing to collagen production.

Promotes Cell Growth
High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) has been proven to have an anti-ageing effect on the skin by increasing telomerase activity. Research suggests telomerase plays a significant role in maintenance of skin function. This is because telomerase is an enzyme that helps to keep cells alive, protecting DNA for better cell growth and replication. Therefore, regular endurance exercise will keep the skin healthier for longer.

Potential Skin Concerns
Sweat-Induced Irritation: Sweating can lead to irritation if it remains on your skin for too long. Sweat can mix with bacteria and dead skin cells, potentially clogging pores and causing breakouts.
Dehydration: Intense workouts can deplete your body’s hydration levels, leading to dry, dull, or flaky skin.
Environmental Exposure: If you work out outdoors, your skin is exposed to UV rays, pollution, and wind, which can cause sun damage, premature aging, or environmental stress.
Maintaining a Post-Workout Glow
Remove Makeup: Sweating with makeup on is a disaster for the pores, and can cause/aggravate skin conditions such as acne. Remove any makeup before working out to avoid this.
Protect Your Skin: If you exercise outdoors, apply a broad-spectrum SPF before your workout to protect against UV damage.
Cleanse Immediately After: To avoid the negative impact of working out, you should get rid of sweat, bacteria, and debris by washing your face and body as soon as possible after your workout.
Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water before, during, and after exercise to replenish lost fluids. On the outside, apply a moisturiser to restore your skin’s barrier.
Exfoliate: Incorporating weekly exfoliation into your skincare routine can help with post-workout breakouts. A weekly SkinBase Microdermabrasion treatment is a great

SkinBase Collagen Lift
The Collagen Lift treatment uses radiofrequency energy in waves to heat the deeper layers of the skin. This stimulates collagen and elastin production, and encourages the breakdown of fat cells. The heat generated during the treatment tightens the skin and holds elastin fibres into position. This helps to reduce the appearance of cellulite.

Stretch marks and cellulite are two different conditions that affect your skin’s appearance. If yours are bothering you, book a course of SkinBase treatments to help renew the skin

SkinBase Microdermabrasion
This is an excellent stretch mark treatment. Tiny crystals exfoliate the outer layer of the skin helping to promote cell renewal. This encourages the growth of new, healthier skin cells and reduces the appearance of stretch marks. The combined process of exfoliating crystals and suction stimulates collagen and elastin production. The skin will look and feel tighter and plumper. As the treatment works on the skin, the stretch marks blend into the surrounding areas and become less visible.

Stretch marks and cellulite are both harmless skin conditions. The problem is they can affect confidence and self-esteem. The good news is there are treatments that can help. While the conditions are separate, they are often grouped together as many sufferers have both. So, stretch marks vs cellulite – what is the difference? Let’s find out!

Stretch Marks
Stretch marks appear as coloured, textured lines or streaks on the surface of the skin. These unsightly marks occur when the skin stretches or shrinks rapidly, and the middle layer of the skin tears. The colour varies depending on what caused them, their location on the body and how long they have been there. Over time, they tend to fade and become lighter in colour.

Risk Factors
It is often during periods of change that stretch marks appear on the skin. It can be at times of rapid growth and/or hormonal fluctuations. Puberty, pregnancy, and menopause are the main culprits. Stretch marks are mostly found on the stomach, hips, thighs and breasts.

What Can You do?
If stretch marks affect your self-esteem, you don’t have to live with them. New stretch marks are usually red or purple – this is the stage that they are easiest to treat. A course of SkinBase Microdermabrasion can help

Cellulite
Cellulite is the result of fat deposits that push through the connective tissue beneath the skin, creating a dimpled and lumpy appearance. It is mostly found in areas with a higher concentration of fat cells. This is because the connective tissue in these areas is thinner and less supportive.

Risk Factors
The presence of cellulite is not necessarily related to weight or body fat percentage. Individuals of all shapes and sizes can have it. Some individuals have a genetic predisposition to cellulite. Others may be at risk of developing cellulite due to hormonal factors, poor circulation, lifestyle and diet. It is almost exclusively an issue for women.
