KCR (Kinetic Chain Release) training complete! 😍🥰😍 ... What is KCR? ...
KCR treatment, or Kinetic Chain Release, is a system of gentle mobilisations and stretches designed to realign the body and restore balance. Developed by Scottish physiotherapist Hugh Gilbert, it works on the principle that an imbalance in one part of the body can affect the whole system. The therapy is holistic, focusing on the entire musculoskeletal system rather than a single problem area, and aims to provide relief from pain and improve overall function.
How it works
A system of gentle mobilisations: KCR involves a series of careful movements and stretches, working from the feet up to the head.
Targeting the kinetic chain: The treatment addresses the interconnected network of muscles, joints, and nerves (the kinetic chain) that work together to support movement.
Rebalancing the body: By releasing tensions around joints, KCR helps to correct postural changes and bring the body into a more balanced state.
Focus on connective tissue: The therapy works on the connective tissue (fascia) that surrounds and holds the body's structures, aiming to loosen it and improve function, rather than focusing on the muscle fibers themselves.
Works on the whole body: The treatment is holistic and works on the entire system, aiming to bring the body back into balance to reduce pain in a specific area.
What to expect
You remain fully clothed and are often on a massage table.
The therapist will work on the whole body, starting at the ankles and moving upwards.
You may feel different sensations, such as initial discomfort in tight areas that then leads to a sense of relief, like a "good pain" or a feeling of lightness.
You are in control and can ask the therapist to stop at any point.
Sessions typically last 45 minutes to an hour.
Potential benefits
Relief from conditions such as sciatica, back pain, shoulder pain, headaches, leg pain, and foot pain.
Improved posture and balance.
Enhanced energy levels.
May help with other issues like ankle and wrist pain, recurrent hamstring issues, and even conditions like PTSD.
