Goodbye, Lori! 👋

Last week, the team waved a sad goodbye to our Edinburgh Service Manager, Lori. Since joining us at the start of 2023, Lori has been an integral part of the team. She stepped up from Deputy Service Manager to Service Manager last year, embracing the role with resilience and dedication.

She will be sorely missed within the team and we wish her all the best in her new ventures. Goodbye and good luck Lori, please don't be a stranger! 💛

Q+A with our Care Assistant, Anoop 🙌

This week, we sat down with Anoop, our Care Worker of the Year finalist, to chat about his favourite part of working in care, the experience he brought from nursing in India, and how it felt to receive such a special nomination.

Anoop moved to Scotland from India 3.5 years ago and has been part of the MyLife Edinburgh team for 3 of those years. We’re so privileged to have Care Assistants like Anoop who truly define what it means to care with compassion.

💛 Your Mental Health First Aiders 💛

Did you know that we have appointed Mental Health First Aiders at MyLife Edinburgh?

Service Manager Lori (pictured first) championed this initiative, drawing on her 8.5 years of experience in mental health services and her belief in the importance of looking after our wellbeing at work.

Hayley (pictured second) is also part of the team, bringing her calm, compassionate presence and a listening ear to anyone who needs support.

We asked the team "what is one small thing someone can do to support a colleague’s mental health?" They said, "Listen! Pay attention and be non-judgemental. Sometimes someone just needs someone to listen to them."

Scottish Care Awards 🌟

On Friday, we celebrated our Care Assistant, Anoop, as he was shortlisted as a finalist for the "Care Worker of the Year" category at the Scottish Care Awards. The team had a wonderful night and were incredibly proud to see Anoop’s dedication and compassion recognised on such a meaningful stage.
