Falls are the most common cause of injury-related hospital admissions in older adults Most falls are preventable with the right support, environment, and activity.

As part of Falls Prevention Awareness Week (Sept 15–19), we’re sharing simple ways our Carers can help reduce fall risk with our service users:

On Friday the 19th of September, in aid of the Care Workers' Charity, we are asking all colleagues, service users and friends of the service to Wear it Orange!

This is a fun, simple, and powerful way to show your support for your fellow care workers who dedicate their lives to supporting others. Whether it’s a bright outfit, orange accessories, or face paint – your splash of orange makes a statement.

How to Take Part
🍊 Wear orange – dress up on 19th September in your boldest orange.
🍊 Host a fun event – try a dress-up day, bake sale, or orange-themed competition.
🍊 Donate – take part by donating as little as Β£1 each.

Tomorrow at 3pm the UK government is testing the Emergency Alerts system. Compatible mobile phones and tablets will receive an alert, make a loud siren-like sound and vibrate. No action is needed, just tap β€˜OK’ to clear it.

πŸ“± Devices that are off, on airplane mode, or using 2G/3G won’t receive the alert.
πŸ”Š Audio & vibration signals will support those who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind or partially sighted.
πŸ’‘ Care Assistants: we advise you to please share this with your service users, especially older people or those with secondary devices, to avoid confusion or distress.

Alerts in future may include: severe flooding, fires or extreme weather.
