Did you know you can get online breastfeeding support in Scotland?

🔵 Virtual Tuesdays (Tomorrow, Tuesday 18th November) 🤱☔️
🔵 Every Tuesday, The Breastfeeding Network offers an Online Breastfeeding Support , which is for anyone in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🤱
🔵 Offering mums online 1:1 or group support where ever they may be
🔵 Sessions are free - use the link below to receive your log in details:
https://www.eventbrite.com/o/58624689183 (or you can find the link in the Midlothian Linktree)
🔵 Booking closes at 5pm on the day of the group - please book before then.
🔵 Our peer supporters are mums who have breastfed their own children and gifted their time to train with Breastfeeding Network to support others (support can be offered via private break out rooms if needed)
🔵 Virtual sessions are a great alternative or additional way to attend groups from a location of choice.
🔵 We have enjoyed meeting mums for near and far, chatting around the trials of getting to groups, returning to work, siblings, breastfeeding and weaning, baby poo... and all things mum 🤣 hair…. Endless washing….cost of living…. Favourite foods…..music….sleep (or lack of) 💤💤
🔵 Very occasionally we may have to roll all support into one group - these sessions are run by our volunteers, and sometimes we just dont have enough volunteers for the sessions to run as 1:1 as well as a group setting. We do our very best 💜

Are you due your baby before the end of January? Do you live in Midlothian?

If so we have the perfect antenatal session for you, just a week away.

The sessions cover infant feeding, with a focus on breastfeeding, bonding with your baby and what to expect in the early days of parenthood. They are also a great opportunity to meet other local mums due around the same time as you.

These sessions are perfect from around 34 weeks onwards and you can bring along a supportive person- whether that's your partner/mum/friend etc.

The sessions also include the chance to opt in for 1:1 phone support with feeding once your baby has arrived.

You can reserve your place here: https://www.eventbrite.com/o/the-breastfeeding-network-midlothian-104661138221

If you have any questions please send us a message or email us at midlothian@breastfeedingnetwork.org.uk.

💜💜💜 HAPPY WORLD PREMATURITY DAY 💜💜💜

09/10/2025

Today marks the first day of Baby Loss Awareness Week and we understand that for many of you this might be your first. Perhaps you didn’t even know before now that this week existed. We are sorry you have found yourself in this place and that there is a need for this week.

Even if your grief still feels very new and very raw you can probably already see why this week is so vitally important to those of us within the bereaved community.

No matter where you are at in your grief or how many Baby Loss Awareness Weeks (BLAW) you have been part of, we want to remind you that we are here for you.

We understand this week is not just for bereaved families, we live it each and every day, but it is our chance to raise awareness within our wider communities of the lifelong impact of pregnancy and baby loss.

Similarly to last year, this year’s theme is Together, We Care, and we wish to remind you of the importance of finding time to be kind to ourselves – to show ourselves the same care we would offer another who has found themselves in this community of amazing people.

During this week we will be sharing some parent stories around the theme of “Togetherness”, and we will be holding specials events to which our bereaved parents and families are warmly invited. It can be a difficult week to navigate on your own. Please get in touch if you would like a chat.

As a charity we like to embrace the idea of ‘togetherness’ and endeavour to work collaboratively with NHS health boards, other third sector organisations and support services to ensure each family receives the best, well-rounded care possible. We pride ourselves on the care, compassion and understanding we show both our families and each other through our core values of empathy, connection and love.

Together, we care, and we want to make sure that no family has to face the worst time in their lives alone 🌈
