Mabel.
The merciless. The matriarch. The maddest. She’s where it all started.
Mabel and her twin sister Hazel were the first stars of goat pilates. We started small with two goats, then we bought a few more, then Mabel and Hazel had babies and then those babies grew up and had babies too, so we have three generations of goat pilates goats now.
We lost Hazel unexpectedly a couple of years ago and this week we sadly said goodbye to Mabel too. She developed an aggressive mouth cancer and after treatment and surgery she became very poorly very quickly.
She was a superstar. Full of mischief and energy and always fully in charge of every pilates class and the whole goat gang. Her leadership skills were strong and she absolutely knew how to perform for the camera. I’d like to say she was Scotland’s most famous goat, with appearances on the BBC, Britain’s Got Talent, multiple viral videos and on the news all around the world.
The original and the best, she’s going to be missed.
