What an incredible 2 days itβs been. On Wednesday I was awarded a finalist place as an Industry Icon.
This is a massive milestone in my 25 years as a Hair Professional and Iβm sure Iβve done the most important Hair Professional in my opinion proud. Not only was he part the massive Steiners Group he was Edinburghs best kept secret as he was appointed the hairdresser to her majesty the Queen. I learnt very important things from this man and he always said never to be pulled by someone elseβs dreams and loose my own. As someone that has always been very able to create beautiful hair naturally (even as a child) he seen that my creativity and innovation was to be nurtured. I worked in and helped manage a few salons after working with my first boss and looking back I always remembered his words. I always flowed in my own way but without leaving a trail of chaos behind me. I always knew where I wanted to work in Edinburgh and I achieved working in those place and worked alongside owners in a couple of salons after working alongside the owners before opening MissionHair. The journey of MissionHair has been a whirlwind and where it is now was never really planned. I have always seen (and still do)the opportunity the actual bricks and mortar salon has, itβs and incredible space in my head but I never really focused on the brand. Iβve always done what I do and until I had MissionHair I didnβt realise how differently I do what I do. Over the years of MissionHair Iβve educated my self in lots of courses, including a few beauty to offer more servicing in the space I love but it naturally pivoted to what it has become now. A sanctuary for clients, for myself, a place of wellbeing and a brand that is changing the expectation of clients in the hairdressing industry with exceptional client journeys and exclusivity in products.
Yesterday I had a regular client who was so proud to be a MissionHair client and a ππ°ππ’π΄π΅π’ ππΊ ππͺπ΄π΄πͺπ°π―π©π’πͺπ³ UK consumer because of not only this recent award but also the recent awards as Premier Salon & Luxury Scalp care Brand. She said she is inspired at every appointment because she looks forward to hearing about what Iβve been working on. Since her last appointment I have added a few new products, had an article in the evening news and added the Wellbeing section to the website, an interactive and productive hub which is free to use. We chatted and then she sat on the wellbeing section of the website whilst her colour was developing. She Absolutly loved it. As the festival is just about to begin in Edinburgh there was a festival worker (Edinburgh tattoo) needing a wee pick me up in the form of a fringe trim. She was so pleased with her (what she seen as a basic fringe trim) service and our interaction as Hair professional & client she left feeling amazing with a goodbye I will never forget. βThis is why youβre an Industry Icon, Iβve never felt so good after a fringe trimβ I never imagined my craft and studies would touch as many people in the way they do. I never imagined manufacturing, production & formulation being a huge part of my business or salon. I never imagined being an exclusive product range for Salons only. I knew I loved my job at 15 (and before) but I love it more now. I live and breathe it and driven to give back to an industry I love and the community that supports it. I am very fortunate and grateful to have so many of you as clients. Iβve grown solo with my-biggest fans by my side who are proud to be a main character in the journey of MissionHair & Solasta by MissionHair.
I am extremely proud of Solasta by MissionHair. Itβs achieved incredible recognition and changed so much in just a short amount of time.
