Foundation Training is a movement practice designed to restore the body's natural order and put YOU at the center of YOUR health. It teaches your body how to properly support itself and move as nature intended. It was developed by chiropractor and movement expert, Dr. Eric Goodman, to heal his own chronic back pain and avoid surgery for multiple disc herniations. This program is not a temporary remedy but a systematic solution that creates long-term health. Foundation Training enables one to reach, achieve, and experience incredible health and wellness. Thousands of people of all ages who were stuck on the couch or headed for surgery for everything from sore knees and bad backs to tight shoulders and failing hips have discovered remarkable healing through Foundation Training. This provides a natural and effective alternative to heavy-handed medical intervention. Visit www.foundationtraining.com to read their testimonials. Mora McGovern trained in New York and is one of a large, and growing, team of Foundation Training Instructors worldwide and the first, and only, certified instructor in Scotland. Her Practice is based near Westhill, Aberdeen where she is now successfully teaching many people how to strengthen their bodies correctly to eliminate pain and avoid injury.

Sciatica is one of the most common reasons people come to work with me, and it’s also something I’ve experienced myself. It can be frustrating and limiting, especially when the focus is only on managing symptoms rather than understanding what’s actually happening in the body.

In my work, change comes from creating space where the nerve is being compressed - often at both the lower back and the hips. When the body has space, it can soften and reorganise. Relief doesn’t come from forcing or numbing, but from decompression.

If this is something you’re living with, we explore this work in Your Body’s Foundations, a small in-person workshop in Edinburgh on Sunday 18th January. If it feels like the right next step, you’d be very welcome - and you’re always welcome to reach out with questions. 🌿

The Deep Front Line is your body’s hidden support from feet through deep abs to neck.
Using gentle decompression - legs anchoring down, ribcage expanding up - we create subtle traction through the whole line.

It looks simple, but there’s a lot happening beneath the surface - it’s much harder than it looks!

On 18th January, join me for ‘Your Body’s Foundations’ to explore this layer and take home practical tools to free restrictions, ease discomfort and move with ease 🌿

Last year at my retreat, we explored how the body’s natural spirals create space and safety for our joints and nervous system. Unwinding these spirals allows the whole body to move with more coordination - leaving you feeling free and mobile.

If you want to dive a little deeper into the theory behind our natural movement, I’ll be running a 3-day retreat in the Scottish Highlands this March. Workshops, movement classes, saunas, incredible food and time to explore the village surrounding trails - just a few spots available, link in bio to secure yours.

Some of these pictures date back to my first ever workshop in Edinburgh in 2016!
It’s amazing to look back and see how much my teaching has evolved, but also how many people I have helped with this work along the way.

On Sunday 18th January, I’ll be running a new workshop called ‘ Your Body’s Foundations’, a two-hour immersion to help you understand how your body is designed to support itself from the inside out. Whether you’re dealing with stiffness and pain, or simply want to feel free in your movement so you can enjoy the activities you love, this workshop will leave you with a deeper understanding of your body, and practical tools you can take home with you. I’d love to see you there.

In my upcoming workshop ‘Your Body’s Foundations’ on 18th January, I’ll walk you through the anatomy of the Deep Front Line - and, more importantly, teach you how to access it. Through a combination of innovative exercises and breathwork you’ll begin restoring your:

🌿Movement: Less pain, tightness, and restriction
🌿Physiological Systems: Easier breathing, digestion, and circulation
🌿Strength & Stability: Support that feels integrated, not braced
🌿Nervous System: More grounding, ease, and internal connection

You’ll come away with a clearer understanding of how your body is designed to support itself - and practical tools you can use straight away.

If you’d like to join us, the Early Bird price is £49 (full price £55) until 18th December.

So many people I work with experience pain on the side they use the most.

Most of the time, it’s the body showing us where we’ve been favouring one side for too long. It’s not a “faulty” side, it’s simply the one carrying more of the load.

Part of my work is helping people reconnect with the side they don’t use as much, the one that’s been a bit quieter.
When both sides begin to share the work again, the body moves with more ease and far less strain.

If this resonates, notice which side you rely on most in daily life. It’s a really helpful place to start paying attention.

Our week at Cabilla brought together everything I love about this work - movement, learning, rest and connection. We explored Foundation Training, somatic movement, the muscle chains, elasticity work, and it was beautiful to see people release tension and move with more ease as the days went on.

A huge thank you to Anu for her beautiful sound baths and treatments, to Mike for guiding the cyanotype workshop and supporting the group throughout, and to everyone who came with such openness. Between the wood-fired saunas, nourishing meals, time in the forest and the hands-on creativity, it was a truly special week. I’m so grateful to have shared it with you all. 🌿

Keep your eyes peeled for my next retreat details coming soon 🌄

This workshop will help you reconnect with the deep structural musculature that most of us lose touch with over time. I’ll walk you through the myofascial architecture of these tissues and how they function as an interconnected system to support space in your body - space that allows your joints and muscles, breath, digestion, circulation, and lymphatic flow (the list goes on!) to move and work with more ease, efficiency, and freedom.

Whether you’re dealing with stiffness and pain, or simply want to feel strong from the inside out so you can enjoy the activities you love, this workshop is guaranteed to leave you with a new and deeper understanding of your body so that you can move forward with confidence.
