So we, as therapists, must be able to hold the unbearable. We must stay connected to our own humanness, while maintaining the therapeutic frame.

Not by hiding behind an idealized persona, but by daring to be present, honest, and whole.

It’s been a while.
 
After months (or maybe years?) of focusing on my practice, teaching, research, and raising a family—I’m finally re-emerging here.
 
🌿 Over the past year, I’ve been thinking deeply about how we live with stress, how anxiety shows up in our bodies, and what it means to truly feel safe and regulated in an overwhelming world.
 
I’m re-starting this space to share:

Emotions don't just happen. They are all important, none, even the most negative and difficult, can be suppressed. Problems and illnesses begin with the fact that we run from our emotions, suppress, we are afraid to admit to ourselves that we feel.

Emotions are your compass. If you know how to use it, you will always know what is good for you, what to avoid, when to leave, where are your points of growth, what do you really want.

But for this you need to allow yourself to live the whole spectrum of emotions. And - most importantly - to distinguish emotions from each other, to recognize them, to determine “Now I'm angry. And now I feel shame and resentment.” Then you can hear the message that the emotions carry.

To make it easier for you to understand, I have compiled for you a brief reminder of the main emotions. Save so you don't lose!
