🏡 Pop up houses - BIG imaginations

At Jets this week, our young designers have been busy crafting pop up houses! Bringing their imagination to life through cutting, folding, glueing and decorating! 🖼️

Crafting isn’t just for fun, it’s an incredible way for children to develop important skills like, problem solving, fine motor coordination and spatial awareness.

From towering mansions to cosy cottages, every pop up house is a unique masterpiece - I’m sure you’ll agree ⭐️

🍦WELCOME TO JETS’ WORLD-FAMOUS ICE CREAM SHOP! 🍦

This week, the Jets children put on their chef and business hats, grabbed their imaginary scoops, and opened the best ice cream shop in South Queensferry —literally! 🌈

🛠️ Top Moments:
✅ Debates over whether tarantula-flavored ice cream should exist. 🕷️🍦
✅ Creative advertising like “Buy 1 Scoop, Get 2 Free Laughs!” 😂
✅ Pretend taste tests that looked suspiciously real. 🤔

By the end, we all agreed: Jets’ Ice Cream Parlor was a 5-star success. Michelin, are you listening? 👏

🌿✨ STICKS, TARPAULIN & BIG IMAGINATIONS! ✨🌿

This week at Jets, the children took den-building to a whole new level—survivor style! 🏕️💪

Armed with sticks, tarpaulin, and their brilliant creativity, they built some epic outdoor hideaways that Bear Grylls himself would be proud of! 🐾🔥

🌟 Highlights of the Day:
✅ Working together to build sturdy structures (and test them against the wind and rain!)
✅ Problem-solving like pros when things didn’t quite go to plan 🛠️😂
✅ Learning about the great outdoors while having a blast!

We’re so proud of their creativity and teamwork—who needs walls when you’ve got tarpaulin magic? 😉

🌊🚤 Sink or Swim? Let’s Find Out! 🚤🌊

This week at Jets Activity Clubs, our little engineers took on a super fun challenge—building rafts out of lolly sticks! 🛠️✨

With creative designs, lots of teamwork, and some very sticky fingers (thanks to glue!), the kids built their own unique mini-rafts. Then came the exciting part… testing them in water! 💧 Did they sink? Did they swim? Let’s just say there were lots of splashes, laughter, and some very successful sailors! 🚢🎉

🌿✨ Our Jets Activity Club children had a fantastic adventure this week in the woodland! 🌲🌳

They explored the outdoors and learned all about different types of habitats. From cozy woodland homes to exciting animal shelters, the children got hands-on creating their own habitats using natural materials. 🌾🪵

At our 'Army Cadet Jets ' Club ( As our children call it) they were busy crafting the cutest mini woolen hats! 🎨✨

This fun craft activity not only encourages creativity but also helps develop fine motor skills and patience. Plus, it's the perfect way to stay warm and stylish! 🎀

Letting the Jets fly high!

Sharon Fairley, the Director of Jets Activity Clubs and also the founder of Little Flyers Childcare, had been approached by many local families of Primary aged children struggling to find activities for their children straight from the end of school finish.

There are clubs, but they would not offer suitable hours along with them often not being consistent in running within the weeks of the school term.

After discussions with the families, it was quickly identified that children would benefit from clubs that would allow a social aspect, youth club feel, along with a fun and engaging programme of indoor and outdoor activities, giving parents and carers the confidence and security of knowing their child was safe and engaged in a fun environment.

That was when the Jets was created, a non-profit Community Interest Company, supporting local Primary School aged children. Sharon is very excited that the first Jets Activity Club will ‘TAKE OFF’ at the South Queensferry Community Hub in August, which has a fantastic outdoor area including the use of the kick pitch, tennis courts and a super indoor hall for arts and crafts, along with board games, chill zone, large projector screen for movies and popcorn and there will be the opportunity to go on local woodland walks and den building and fire pit cooking.
