We have a confession - we’ve been so busy during the summer rush this year that we’ve fallen behind on our usual updates. Despite this post being a bit late, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to share some fantastic achievements from our wonderful care team and so this post celebrates 3 of our very best🏆!

Let us introduce you to our team member of the month winners from May, June and July - the amazing Grant, Christine and Marion (who is a bit camera shy but deserves to be shouted about none the less 📢).

All of our winners were chosen for their passion, dedication and commitment to their roles, helping us provide high quality, personalised care within our local community. Each of them special and unique in their own way.

Grant is renowned for his daily sing a long’s, using music as a tool to lift the spirits and unlock old memories and nostalgia with the people he supports. He even brings his guitar along on special occasions to add that extra bit of magic🎂

Christine is instrumental in helping us tackle social isolation and loneliness in the community with her versatile and fun befriending services that she tailors to each individuals likes and preferences, proving that nothing is too big an ask to make someone smile

& Marion uses her wealth of knowledge and experience within the care sector to provide compassionate, responsive and effective support that aligns with our core values and is personalised for each person that she visits.

Thank you all for being so fabulous, you make us proud every day, what a pleasure it is to have each of you as part of our team - keep shining and making a difference every day. Enjoy your extra days annual leave as a well deserved reward💙✨

The National emergency alert is to be tested on Sunday 7 September 2025 ‼️

The UK Government will send a test emergency alert to mobile phones across the UK at around 3pm.

During the test, mobile phones will vibrate and make a loud siren sound for roughly 10 seconds, even if they are set to silent. A message will also appear on phone screens, making it clear the alert is only a test 📱

The test will be sent to the approximately 87 million mobile phones in the UK.

It is important to test the system because alerts are used to warn if there’s a danger to life nearby, including extreme weather. They allow vital information to be sent to people rapidly in an emergency.

We wanted to share this information so you are not concerned, please remind vulnerable people not to worry and explain what this means.

Hip Hip Hooray it’s the Burryman day (we are just a wee day late).

We were absolutely delighted to see the Burryman yesterday and ever so grateful he agreed to stop by Professional Carers for a photo again. We were even more delighted when he offered to make us an official stop on next year’s schedule!

Next year our mission is to gather as many members of our care team as possible at the office for a big group picture to celebrate this amazing Queensferry tradition💙

Our dedicated team of managers and staff offer a high quality home care service, to service users of all ages (18 years+) in their own home. These services are available from 30 minute calls to 24 hour live in support and supplied throughout Edinburgh.

We are registered with the Care Inspectorate and during our last inspection received Gradings of ‘5’ [Very Good] in areas of Quality of Care and Support, and Quality of Staffing.

Throughout the last 3 years our carers' distinctive uniforms have become a familiar sight throughout the Almond area and as a team we have worked hard to build and maintain a reputation for high quality and high standards of care.

We recognise it is important to give people choice and control over the care services they receive; we therefore take into account your personal preferences as far as absolutely possible. Your dignity, privacy and retention of independence will be of paramount importance to us in the delivery of your care and support.
