Ad hoc care. Are you looking for ad hoc childcare in the evening or weekends? This weekend I've been busy with ad hoc care which I offer alongside regular childcare throughout the week. If you are looking for babysitting either during the day Saturday or Sunday or any evening then get in touch. I'm a registered Childminder, first aid trained, insured, qualified and experienced.

We've had a busy 1st week back after holidays. Lots of fun outdoors and plenty of water play. It's been great having more school age children to play at Little Rainbows- they love being around the younger children and having the opportunity to be in a relaxed home from home setting. One of our favourite places for having fun outdoors is Saughton Gardens and park. The little ones love running around and looking at all the flowers, hiding in the trees, climbing and watching the bees. We have been growing our own herbs and strawberries back at Little Rainbows and the littles have been helping care for them, we've been discovering what plants need to grow and learning about bees through play and at storytime in the garden. Wonderful early learning.

We love the outdoors and it forms a large part of what we do here at Little Rainbows. Children really benefit from fresh air and the freedom the outdoors provides. Opportunities for language development, socialisation, development of gross and fine motor skills but most importantly it's fun! Would you like your little one to join us on our adventures? Space available end of May. Based in North Edinburgh I am a registered and qualified Childminder. Offering a nuturing home from home small group setting. We love the outdoors and spend at least half our day enjoying and exploring the world around us. We are situated near local parks, Botanic Gardens and regularly visit our local library, toddler groups and much more. Summer holiday spaces available. Are you looking for care over the summer holidays? Little Rainbows childminding has summer holiday space for school age children (p1-p7) from Monday 19th July. I offer a small home from home setting that is relaxed and fun. We have daily outings to our local outdoor spaces and further afield. Flexible hours are available and all trips are included in the daily rate.

Potion making last week at home and in the forest. The children enjoy choosing what they put in their mixture and working together to create something magical! We spend time outdoors everyday both locally and further afield. Little Rainbows will have a 4 day space from August 2021, days available are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Dream Big at Little Rainbows

Hello! Welcome to Little Rainbows Child care. I’m Marion the founder of Little Rainbows. A little introduction about me- I have worked with children and families for a number of years and am also a mum to 3 children, ages 12 years, 11 years and 22months. I founded Little Rainbows so I was able to channel my ideas and passion into my own business. I am a fully registered childminder with The Care Inspectorate here in Scotland and I am also a member of the SCMA (Scottish Child Minding Association)When it comes to working with babies and children play should be central to their experiences and this is at the forefront of Little Rainbows. The provision of a child-led settle in period and a predictable and managed routine which your child will come to know and thrive on allows your child to safely explore and play knowing everything else is taking care of. I am always here to support your child but not to interfere with their most important play work unless invited of course!

Babies and young children explore and learn about their world through play, and in “our 2-dimensional world of tapping and sliding fingers on screens they need to be able to touch, taste, smell, shake and bang three dimensional objects in order to develop thinking and learning skills.” (Hughes, Developing Play for the Under 3s, 2016)
