Play therapy can support adopted and fostered children.

Play therapy helps fostered and adopted children work through difficult/complex emotions/trauma using play and supports the development of emotional intelligence and resilience in a safe supportive environment.

It is non-directive or child-led and works with the relationship between the child, the play and the therapist. Through each act of play the therapist tries to find meaning – a narrative, which they then reflect back to the child. Practitioners are accredited by the British Association of Play Therapists (BAPT) and PTUK.

Playing is children's language. It's how children communicate, learn, express themselves and have fun!
Play therapy uses the natural language of children to facilitate healing, growth & development.
Playing is so much more than just playing!

After a year in the making, I am delighted that Therapy at Play is now finally open!

Therapy at Play is based in St Margaret's House on London Rd in Edinburgh, offering professional play therapy and filial therapy services for children ages 4 to 12.
