🖐️ Feeling tension or tightness in your forearms? You’re not imagining it—fascial restrictions might be the culprit! These restrictions can cause symptoms like pain, stiffness, numbness, tingling, or even a difficult grip that just doesn’t want to cooperate.

At AB Holistic Therapies, I specialize in loosening up those stubborn fascia! My direct myofascial techniques, cupping massage, and instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilisation work together to release restrictions, reduce discomfort, and restore movement — so you can get back to crushing your day - using a computer, playing a musical instrument using your phone maybe a bit too much 😉 or having a workout 💪✨

Whether you're after a holistic massage or targeted myofascial release, just let me know you’re looking for some deep work on your arms and forearms and I will do my best to restore free movement in them. Book your session today and say goodbye to arm tension — your fascia will thank you. 😉

My favourite kind of thing 😃💃🍉

🍉 offers numerous health benefits due to its rich nutritional profile. It's known for being a great source of hydration, thanks to its high water content. It also provides antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals that can boost the immune system, improve heart health, and support healthy skin and eyes.

Here's a more detailed look at the benefits:

Hydration: if you don't like drinking water, 🍉 is approximately 92% water, making it an excellent choice for staying hydrated, especially during warmer months.

Cardiovascular Health: 🍉 contains citrulline, an amino acid that can improve blood vessel function and potentially lower blood pressure. It also contains lycopene, an antioxidant that may reduce the risk of heart disease.

Antioxidant Properties: 🍉 is packed with antioxidants like vitamin C, lycopene, and beta-carotene. These antioxidants help protect the body from damage caused by free radicals, reducing the risk of chronic diseases and supporting overall health.

Immune System Support: Vitamins A and C, found in 🍉, are crucial for a healthy immune system. They help the body fight off infections and maintain overall well-being.

Skin and Eye Health: Vitamin A, abundant in 🍉, is essential for healthy skin and eyes. It helps maintain moisture and supports cell regeneration.

Muscle Recovery: 🍉, particularly its juice, has been shown to reduce muscle soreness after exercise, likely due to its citrulline content.

Tight sternocleidomastoid?!?

Forward Head Posture:
The SCM muscle, when tight, pulls the head forward, disrupting the natural alignment of the neck and spine. This forward head posture can create strain on the neck and upper back, potentially leading to pain, stiffness, headaches.

Rounded Shoulders:
Forward head posture often accompanies rounded shoulders, as the body tries to compensate for the imbalance. This rounded posture can further contribute to neck and upper back pain and affect overall body alignment

Potential Facial Asymmetry:
In some cases, if one SCM is tighter than the other, it can lead to a subtle asymmetry in the face, with one side potentially appearing slightly higher or more forward than the other.

(SCM) muscle can negatively impact lymphatic drainage from the face and neck by restricting the flow of lymphatic fluid. This can lead to swelling, discomfort, and a feeling of tightness in the head and neck area. The SCM muscle is located on the side of the neck and plays a role in head movement. When it's tight, it can compress the lymphatic vessels and nodes in the neck, hindering the natural drainage of fluid away from the face.

I often find myself holding my breath or taking in just bare minimum and then feeling tired, unfocused, sleepy in pain and not in a good mood. 😔

I know I am not the only one.

Lets not wait until the end of the day to take this long, slow, relaxing and deeply satisfying breath.

We can live without most essential things for days or longer but not without oxygen, so let's not deprive our bodies of it.

Oxygen is essential for cellular respiration, the process that converts nutrients into energy, and is carried throughout the body by red blood cells. Without a sufficient supply of oxygen, the body's cells and tissues cannot function properly, and vital organs like the brain are particularly vulnerable to oxygen deprivation.

Diaphragmatic (belly) breathing offers a wide range of benefits not only for physical but also for mental health, including:

😌😊**Reduces Stress and Anxiety:** Activates the parasympathetic nervous system, promoting relaxation and calmness.

🫁**Improves Oxygen Intake:** Enhances lung efficiency by allowing deeper, fuller breaths, which supplies more oxygen to your body and brain.

🩸🩸**Lowers Blood Pressure:** Helps relax blood vessels, contributing to better cardiovascular health.

😖🤕🩼*Relieves Tension and Pain:** Eases muscle tension, headaches, and general aches, especially in the neck and shoulders.

🧠🤔🦉*Enhances Focus and Mental Clarity:** Increases oxygen flow to the brain, improving concentration and mental clarity.

💃🕺 **Supports Better Posture and Core Stability:** Engages the diaphragm and abdominal muscles, aiding in posture correction.

😴🛌😌**Promotes Better Sleep:** Calms the nervous system, making it easier to fall asleep and stay asleep.

🌟 Feeling a little "tight" in your chest? Most of us are. Tense pectoral muscles can actually cause some unwanted discomfort and limited movement.

When your pectorals are too tight, you might experience pain in your shoulders, neck, or upper back. It can also contribute to poor posture and reduce your ability to fully open up—literally.
Think of it as your body's way of saying, "Hey, I need a little love here!"

What causes this tension? Mostly it’s due to poor posture (hello, long hours at the desk or slouching on the couch), overtraining the chest muscles, or simply holding stress in your upper body.

But don’t worry, there are some tricks to loosen up! Try incorporating a doorway stretch or chest-opening yoga poses like the "Cactus" arms or "Camel" pose. Regular massage therapy targeted at your chest can also work wonders.

Remember, a relaxed chest isn’t just about looking good—it’s about feeling good and moving freely.
Schedule a massage with AB Holistic Therapies and say goodbye to that tension! 💆‍♂️💪

But wait a minute!

Tight chest = sore back?! 😱😱😱

🌟 Tight chest muscles can throw your entire back out of whack. It’s like pulling one thread in a sweater — everything else starts to feel the strain!

When your pectorals are overly tight, they pull your shoulders forward, leading to poor posture and putting extra stress on your upper back and neck muscles. This can cause discomfort, stiffness, and even headaches. Over time, it can compromise your spinal alignment and limit your movement—basically, your back starts saying, “Hey, I’ve had enough!”

A little massage, stretching, and strengthening exercises for your back can help restore balance. Think of it as giving your muscles a much-needed hug from the front and back! 💆‍♀️✨
