👁️✨ Happy World Optometry Day! ✨👁️

Today we’re celebrating our wonderful optometrist, Katie!

Katie moved to Edinburgh from Northern Ireland in 2023 after graduating with a First Class Honours degree from Ulster University. She previously worked as a mobile optometrist in Belfast, where she loved the variety of caring for patients in different settings.

Katie finds her role hugely rewarding and is passionate about improving people’s quality of life through better vision. She’s also a strong advocate for preventative eye care, helping patients understand how to best protect and look after their eyes for the future.

Outside the practice, Katie enjoys staying active with long walks, swimming, and dancing. She’s also a member of a local choir and loves performing in concerts. When she’s not singing, you’ll often find her exploring Edinburgh – especially wandering around Leith discovering new cafés and restaurants.

We’re so grateful to have Katie as part of our team. Join us in celebrating her and all optometrists making a difference this World Optometry Day! 👓💙

Originally from Peebles, Alex spent a short time living in London before settling in Edinburgh, where he’s spent the past 7 years building an impressive career in optics. With 10 years of retail experience – including 7 years in optics – Alex brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for helping patients find the best visual solutions for their needs.

Before joining us, Alex also volunteered with Sense Scotland and worked part-time in a shoe shop before studying computing at college.

What Alex loves most about the job?
