Heading into visit # Mirehouse , Keswick . You can feel the presence of the writers of the past as they visited this place , the likes of or Lord Tennyson would have walked this path. Inside no photographs are allowed but I found myself drawn to sit down in one of the seats by a fireplace . An elderly gentleman was sitting in one opposite. We had a conversation , it transpired that he was the owner of the property. He asked me if I liked the chair ( I though I was going to get a row) I said yes , although it wasn’t that comfortable, I found myself saying that it felt like someone important had sat in it , someone who like to hold long conversations. He told me to turn around and look in a cabinet behind the chair , he pointed out a pencil drawing of Alfred Lord Tennyson sitting in the very chair. It was his chair. Spooky !! . Lovely and very peaceful house.
