Forget awkward ice breakers! Bring your community group, sports team or colleagues to our Dragonboat Race for the ultimate team day out. No team, no worries - this year you can sign up solo and join one of our mixed teams on the day.

Supporter Saturday Shout-out!

On Saturday 16 May, the amazing Scottish bluegrass band, Goldrush, played a free concert at St Martin's Church, Edinburgh with all donations going to St Columba's Hospice Care.

The band were invited by Bill Wishart (husband of our Chaplain, Erica) and Erica said a few words at the interval about the work of the Hospice. There were less than 30 people in the audience, so it was astounding to discover at the end of the weekend that the final total raised - including a few donations from church members who couldn't get to the concert - was a fantastic £895!

The band were delighted with this as they were keen to support St Columba's, knowing that several St Martin's members have received care from the Hospice over the years.

Bill got into the swing of the music by wearing his cowboy hat but many of our staff might also remember him as "Santa" from Christmas Day 2025 on Cedar Ward!

Thank you to the band and audience members for their wonderful donations, so gratefully received!

Tuesday was an exciting day for the Compassionate Wellbeing team as we launched a brand-new group at the bright and welcoming Prestonpans Library! Library staff Vicky and Lizzie, have been so supportive and we think we're going to be very happy there.

Here's what Susanne, our first attendee said about the group so far...

"Come along! Be open-minded, life is for living and that's the road I'm taking.."

We agree Susanne! Thanks for cutting the first of many cakes!

Amanda and Lianne from our Fundraising team, hit the road earlier this week and took a trip to Pease Bay Holiday Park to meet with Leeanne, Abbie and the team who have chosen us to be their charity partner of the year.

The team recently organised a fun day to kick off the partnership, and have lots of amazing events and fundraiser's coming up, so keep an eye on Pease Bay and Hospice socials to find out how you can show your support.

Commenting on the partnership, Corporate Fundraiser, Amanda, said: "We're delighted to be partnering with such a brilliant team! We're looking forward to a fun and rewarding partnership over the next year."
