Learn what ECGs are and what the squiggly lines mean,
How to acquire 3 and 12 lead ECGs,

If someone is not breathing normally and unconscious, calling 999 🚑 and starting chest compressions immediately is the most important thing you can do to buy them time. 🕒

You are not hurting them, you are not doing anything detrimental and it is normal for ribs to break during CPR.

Call out for help and if there is a defibrillator ⚡, open it, follow the instructions as soon as possible.

Keep going until help arrives and tells you to stop, you physically can't carry on, the patient wakes up or you are in danger.

Once that 999 call is made. Everyone is coming to help you and the patient! 🏃 If you notice someone is in cardiac arrest, Act! They need you!

The clock is ticking in a cardiac arrest. Of the 40,000 resuscitation attempts carried out by emergency services in the UK each year, fewer than 10% survive.

But we can improve this; learn CPR, know where your nearest defibrillator is, and be ready to act in an emergency. A little knowledge makes a big difference!
