For Homeopaths and student homeopaths.

Following on from the recent success and positive feedback from Elizabeth's first pathology webinar we decided to run a second part, opening up Elizabeth's vast knowledge to a wider audience while discussing a different group of remedies.

Elizabeth will be looking at the relationship between the remedies and their related miasms.

Society of Homeopaths and our partners at the Integrated Healthcare Collaborative (IHC) would be delighted if you could follow our campaign to help you sustain your health and wellbeing, with weekly tips to incorporate into your routine.

Life can be hectic at times, and we can get swept along by work and other commitments. It’s important to find time to pause, focus on grounding, awareness and breathing. A sensory reset. Try taking a step away from from work, problems, social media and other distractions, and bring calmness and clarity. Bring yourself back to the present moment.

Tip number 7 is to build mindfulness breaks into your day. They can help to reduce stress, enhance mental wellbeing and relax the body. Maybe you just need to take a breath. Maybe a few moments to connect with your environment through your senses. Maybe some time to sit and think about how you’re feeling about something that's going on.

Mindfulness can involve breathing methods, guided imagery, and other practices to relax the body and mind and help reduce stress. Find a simple mindfulness exercise that works for you. Many can be practiced anywhere and anytime. Research indicates that engaging your senses outdoors is especially beneficial. Some mindfulness exercises may need you to set aside time when you can be in a quiet place without distractions or interruptions. These could involve walking, sitting or body scan. Perhaps practice this type of exercise early in the morning before you begin your daily routine.

Let’s improve our health together.

Meet the team:
I am Lyssa and I live and work in East Lothian
I’m a homeopath and am passionate about women’s health during pregnancy and the health their families, babies and children.
My three children were brought up with homeopathy. I found using homeopathy was brilliant during my pregnancies, births and those first post-natal months and then years of parenting. I had homeopathic treatment to ease morning sickness, severe ligament pain, and mastitis, and then to support my children’s health and vitality.
After training in birth education in the early 1990s I studied Homeopathy at college for four years. And I have been learning ever since ! I now meet with women through their pregnancy journey, before conception, during pregnancy, preparing for birth and through the post-natal year, so that they and their babies have the most healthful, supported and nurtured start in life.
Many women come and see me for homeopathy as they want a holistic, respectful, safe and non-toxic way to care for their health while pregnant and breastfeeding and with any challenges they face post-natally. I run introductory workshops on using homeopathy at home for simple self-prescribing in acute illnesses like colds, coughs, and stomach bugs.
I love to hear women’s stories and their unique experiences and journeys and to provide the deep and gentle support homeopathy can bring.
I work from my studio space at Cockenzie House, surrounded by the beautiful walled gardens, with a cafe downstairs and right by the sea. (I also see people online as needed.)
So please come and have a chat and ask any questions you have. I’m always happy to talk about homeopathy, pregnancy, birth and babies !

Arnica and headaches

Arnica and headaches

Imagine that feel “as if your brain were shattered or burning.”
What if nature holds the key to soothing that intense burning sensation and shattering pain within?

We normally think of just for bruising, however
this powerful has proved in practice, to be highly effective for headaches and a host of other conditions.

Known as Wolf’s Bane, Leopard’s Bane, and Fall Herb, Arnica montana is a striking yellow alpine flower whose names evoke strength, alertness, and resilience.

In , arnica is one of the most valued remedies for physical trauma, providing gentle support to athletes, active individuals, and patients recovering from injury.
From bruises and sprains to muscle soreness and soft tissue trauma, arnica is widely used to reduce pain, swelling, and recovery time by stimulating the body’s natural healing response.

Arnica’s role extends beyond muscles and limbs. It is also a key remedy in the homeopathic approach to head injuries, including concussions and blows to the head.
Take Bastian for example. A patient who suffered a head injury with symptoms of concussion such as fever, headache, nausea, and dizziness. After receiving Arnica, his symptoms improved rapidly and durably, enabling a smooth and supported recovery.
Arnica remains a timeless remedy in modern homeopathic practice.

Its gentle yet powerful effect exemplifies homeopathy’s core principle, which is treating the , with their specific and characteristic symptoms and sensations not just the injury.

In a world where recovery matters, quickly, naturally, and gently, homeopathy offers a path well worth exploring.
