Very true.

Very true.

Just because you feel calm doesn’t mean it’s safe.
And just because you feel discomfort doesn’t mean it’s wrong.

Your nervous system is shaped by what hurt you, not just what’s happening now.
Sometimes the fear you feel is your past echoing—not your present warning.

Healing isn’t just about moving forward—it’s about learning how to tell the difference between a red flag and a trauma response.
Between your wounds and your wisdom.

Be gentle with yourself as you learn. You’re doing brave work. 🩵

“When they say‘Cant you take a joke?’ What they really mean is ‘I want to say something unkind without being called out for it’
…so, why do people do it?
Sometimes, it is immaturity. They have not learned how to connect without teasing. Sometimes, it’s deflection if YOU are the target THEY are not. And sometimes it is about power. They know that laugh will win them approval and that matters more than your feelings. It is also learned behaviour. Some people grew up in families or cultures where ROASTING each other was the norm…”

So what’s getting in the way of more men seeking therapy? 🤔

Stigma, social expectations, and discomfort around opening up all play a part. But attitudes are slowly shifting.

This Men’s Health Month, we’re taking a closer look at how men view therapy, and how those views are changing.

Children exposed to a domestic abuser show the same pattern of activity in their brains as soldiers exposed to combat (Professor Eamon McCory). This is why we must do much more to protect children and stop domestic abusers 💣

If you are interested in the expression of human s*xuality, its complex links to love and attachment this film “Kinsey” (made in 2004) is a must for you. It portrays the life of a controversial academic, s*x researcher Alfred Kinsey. Kinsey was at the peak of his career over 70 years ago…His research was very imperfect in many ways (when analysed with the modern lense)and yet it was like “a breath of fresh air in a stuffy room” and ground breaking in many ways. Unfortunately, in so many cultures, especially those ones where religion plays a dominant role in education and politics its findings are ignored or/and censored even today. It is good to reflect why we so often are denied this freedom to choose what to believe and how to express.
We have learned very little it seems.
Here is the trailer.

Life story of Alfred Kinsey, a man driven to uncover the most private secrets of the nation, and a journey into the mystery of human behavior. In 1948 Kinsey...
