Recruitment - what we look for in Care Assistants

When recruiting Care Assistants at Bright Care, we look for people with the right character, values and commitment. A background in care isn’t necessary, we look for people with a positive attitude and the ability to build good relationships with clients, their families and the wider team. The Care Assistant role is varied and the duties are tailored to the needs of the client. Our Care Assistants find their work really fulfilling and they are well rewarded for the work they do, bringing joy to later years.

Our Care Assistant roles and responsibilities include personal care, light housework, meal preparation, assistance with medication and outings.

The festive period has been a busy time for our team. At Bright Care, we are dedicated to bringing joy to the lives of our clients all year round and at Christmas, we love helping people soak up the music and atmosphere of the season. Our Carers have been working hard to arrange festive outings to carol concerts and beautifully decorated local landmarks as well as making our clients homes Christmassy.

Together, these simple but thoughtful moments have made this Christmas season feel special for everyone involved.

Bright Care Edinburgh had a fabulous time celebrating their Carer Award winners at the The Dome 🌟

The Dome was beautifully decorated for Christmas and the team all enjoyed a delicious festive afternoon. We think it's hugely important that our staff know how valued they are and how much we appreciate their hard work and dedication.

A Christmas message from Tim Cocking, Founder and CEO:

2025 has been another tremendous year for Bright Care in so many ways and I am incredibly grateful to all our employees and clients for their continued trust and support.

This year, we have continued to welcome new team members, open new branches and had the privilege of serving even more customers. Each milestone is a testament to the dedication, compassion and professionalism that define the Bright Care team.

As the year draws to a close, I find myself reflecting with deep gratitude, both for the meaningful work we get to do and for the people who make it all possible. Last week our Glasgow branch hosted a Christmas Fair for staff, clients and families. They did a fabulous job of decorating the office and created a lovely festive atmosphere.

Some very talented Carers made goodies to sell and staff ran a tombola with all proceeds going to Alzheimer Scotland. They also set up a drop off point for the food bank and were delighted with the incredibly generous donations. 🥰

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, bought and donated. 🎄

Natalie and Megan hosted - Stirling’s Big Christmas Night In for their Care Assistants this week! They decorated the branch beautifully and everyone enjoyed a delicious takeaway followed by a quiz night.
