What Healing Actually Looks Like?

It’s not always pretty.
It’s not always calm.
It’s not always linear.
But it is always worth it.
Healing is messy, layered, and deeply human. It’s about showing up for yourself — again and again — even when it feels hard.

What’s one thing that’s helping you heal right now?

Hello Friends 🤍
How are you keeping this February? Have you managed to stay dry?

There are little green shoots beginning to appear in the garden now, quietly offering hope of colour and life in the weeks ahead. We may not be quite through winter yet, but we are definitely on our way.

In this gentle space between winter and spring, it’s a lovely time to turn our attention back to the body. Just as animals hibernate and plants rest through the colder months, we too may have slowed down, as we should. And as we begin to transition toward spring, you might feel ready for some warming movement, deeper stretches, and time to awaken the body from its winter rest.

✨ Join me on 28th February for a 2-hour Yang Yin Yoga Workshop at OMH Therapies on Atholl Place.
We’ll move, stretch, breathe and I’ll bring along some essential oils to enliven the senses.

🌸 On 21st March, I’ll also be running a Spring Equinox Yoga Workshop, a time to begin setting intentions for the warmer months ahead. Together we’ll explore pranayama and yoga practices to energise and nourish the body as we move out of winter and toward the light of summer.

Weekly Classes:
Tues & Thurs 9:30–10:30am at Blackhall St Columba Church
Mon 6pm at Cramond Kirk
(Livestream also available)

Both workshops are now live on the booking system.

I look forward to seeing you soon.

In a world that asks us to be constantly available, rest can feel unfamiliar.

But just like any system, vour bodies and minds need time to pause, reset, and restore.

Stepping away, even briefly, from screens, responsibilities, and the noise of daily life can help regulate the nervous system, ease mental fatigue, and create space to breathe again.

Rest isn’t a luxury.
It’s maintenance.

Take a few minutes today to unplug your system will thank you.

Our backs carry a lot, physically and emotionally.

Long hours sitting, driving, scrolling, or standing
can leave the spine feeling tight, tired, or unsupported.

A simple daily back-care routine can help:
✨ improve mobility
✨ ease tension
✨ support posture
✨ reduce stiffness
✨ encourage better breathing

Supporting the spine isn’t about doing more, it’s about moving with care and consistency.

Your back will thank you.

Save this for your daily reset.

Which movement helps your back most?

This Valentine’s season,
what if love started with you?

Not with flowers or grand gestures but with breath, rest, and movement.

Self-care isn’t indulgent.
It’s essential.

Taking time to move your body,
release tension,
and soften your nervous system
is one of the most meaningful ways
to show yourself compassion.

Join me for a Yin & Yang Workshop

A gentle balance of:
✨ energising movement (Yang)
✨ deep release and stillness (Yin)

We’ll begin by waking up the body with mindful movement and twists to stimulate energy and circulation…
before settling into longer-held Yin poses to relax, restore, and renew.

Supporting the practice with calming essential oils to nurture body and mind.

Your nervous system is your body’s communication network.
It’s constantly scanning the world for safety, often without you realising.

When it feels safe, you can:
• breathe deeply
• think clearly
• digest properly
• rest and repair

When it feels threatened or overwhelmed, the body shifts into protection.

This isn’t weakness. It’s biology.

Share this with someone who needs nervous-system care.

Backbends aren’t about pushing deeper.
They’re about creating space.

✨ Physically
Backbends help counter the rounded shapes we spend so much time in, sitting, scrolling, driving.
They support spinal mobility, shoulder openness, and better posture.

✨ Energetically
Backbends stimulate the heart space and encourage circulation and breath.
They can lift energy when we feel heavy or stagnant.

✨ Emotionally
Heart-opening shapes ask for trust and softness.
They invite us to stay present, breathe through sensation, and meet ourselves with compassion.

✨ Nervous System
When approached slowly and supported, backbends can be grounding and regulating, not overwhelming.

Backbends are not about how deep you go.
They’re about how safely you arrive.

Move gently.
Breathe fully.
Let the front of the body soften open.

Which backbend do you love most or avoid?

Join me in class to explore backbends safely and mindfully.

Yin & Yang: The Dance of Opposites

Yin can only exist because Yang exists.
Yin is slow, grounding, hidden.
Yang is dynamic, energising, expressive.
Both are essential and both live within us.

Join me for a Yang Yin Yoga Workshop where we explore this beautiful balance:

🗓 Saturday, 28 Feb
10 AM– 12:00 PM
📍

We’ll begin with a gently flowing Yang sequence dynamic stretches and twists to release tension and awaken energy.
Then we'll slow down into deep, meditative Yin poses to nourish fascia and renew the nervous system.

This workshop is your invitation to move with awareness, reconnect with your body, and find equilibriumon and off the mat.

All levels welcome. Come as you are.

In colder months we often forget to hydrate yet our bodies still need warmth, fluid and care.

Winter hydration isn’t about icy drinks. It’s about gentle nourishment.

✨ Try:
• warm herbal teas
• hot water with lemon or ginger
• infused water with cinnamon or orange
• slow, mindful sipping

Hydration supports energy, digestion, circulation, and the nervous system, especially during winter.

Pause.
Sip slowly.
Let warmth move through you.

A small ritual that makes a big difference.

A yang and yin workshop, moving the physical body to stimulate and energise.

Spending time in twists and gentle stretches to release, then settling into some deeper Yin poses to relax and renew.

To support us through the darker months, I will bring in some essential oils too.
