An early start :). Lottie wanted her breakfast, she goes back to sleep, I look at the crisp autumn sky and the moon and all of the jars I started putting together yesterday for the next retreat.
This is the season that I like to describe as the big and bold reds, the deep blues and let's not forget the bright orange and brown...and of thorns.
It is almost as if after the bounciness and delicacy of spring and expansion of summer flowers and soft ripe fruits of all colours in the pastel range, nature gives a final strong apex, a bold statement, and in my view also the gifts for winter support. These last offerings in colour have absorbed so much light ✨️ and all the warmth and are packed with vit C, antioxidants galore, omegas of different numbers and more...and they have thorns...why, I have been wondering? Is it to make sure not too many are takento make sure to last until the following year?
And so the season autumnal bell has definetely been sounded.
Welcome rosehips and your promise of syrup in cereals in winter months, welcome seabuckthorn and your promise of an icecube worth in hot water 10 days per month in winter to make my blood feel like it has received an injection of sunshine 🌞 ☀️
Welcome hawthorn berries...heart sustaining tincture and maybe ketchup and maybe more
Welcome elderberries and your decicious vinegar I can now no longer live without it is so good,
Brambles, sloes....vinegar, oxymels,elixirs...
One of my craniosacral clients brought me bramble and damsons oxymel last week. How wonderful ❤️
Vannie today will be totally emptied, and then refilled with different content - a bit like a wild food and medicine pantry on wheels....
And jotters and cartridge paper and charcoal, and ink, and boards and little tables and more....
Nearly ready to spend a long weekend in the forest in good company...
