She was wearing a grey camouflage collar with no tag. Please contact our Dundas st branch on 0131 557 1819. We will be able to keep her here till lunchtime but then she will be moved to the Cat and Dog home. Thanks

This week is Veterinary Receptionist Week! We'd like to express our heartfelt gratitude to our amazing receptionists, admin team, and client care assistants. As the first point of contact, they handle appointment bookings, client communication, emergency triage, and provide vital support to our team. We're incredibly grateful for their hard work and dedication! πŸ• 🐈 🩺

🦷 Dental case highlight 🦷
Kevin came in to see us with lingually displaced deciduous canines. These are the puppy teeth that have erupted in the wrong position and are hitting against the hard palate (top of the mouth). This can cause discomfort when eating, ulceration/injury and longer term issues with jaw and tooth development. Therefore, when we see these cases we usually advise surgical removal of the baby canines and monitor the adult canines as they come through at 6 months of age. This is one of the many health checks that is done on puppies when they come in to see us for an initial health check/vaccine appointment. Kevin came in as a day patient to have this procedure done and his owners have kindly let us share some images taken beforehand. I am happy to say Kevin has been doing very well after his procedure 🐢

Exciting news for our community! πŸŽ‰

As of 20th March 2026 Dundas Veterinary Group is now employee owned.

This means that the people who care for your pets every day now have a real stake in the future of the practice and firmly secures our independence for the future! πŸŽ‰

Dundas Veterinary Group have been proud to look after Edinburgh pets for nearly 50 years, with some of our current team members celebrating nearly 30 years in the practice.

Emma Sharp joined the practice in 2008 and became a partner with Audrey Fearn and Sheila Cranna in 2012. Peter became a Director in 2017 and the practice became family owned.
Emma and Peter have always strived to keep the independence of the practice and made the exciting decision to become an Employee Owned Practice.

As an employee-owned business we can continue to focus on what matters mostβ€”long-term relationships, consistent care, and putting pets before profits. πŸ₯³πŸ†

With the whole team invested in the practice, we can continue building a service that prioritises compassion, continuity, and the highest standards of veterinary care. πŸ’•

The day to day running of the practice will have the same familiar faces at your local branches.
Peter Sharp will be joined by Rhiannon Moore, Will Chadwick and Matthew Saunders as company directors. πŸ’ͺ
Emma Sharp will step back from her management role to concentrate on clinical work focusing on her passion for geriatric care and chronic pain management. 🩺

Thank you for trusting us with your pets. We are proud to retain our independence and be part of this community, and becoming employee owned means we can keep caring for your animals with the same dedication for many years to come. 🐾

This is lovely Amy enjoying herself in cat ward after a heart scan. We perform heart scans to measure the chambers of the heart and to assess the way it functions. Before and after procedures patients stay in their own areas in either our dog or cat ward. We try to make the wards as stress free as possible with lots of cuddles and classical music on to help our furry friends stay happy and calm. We are glad Amy was so relaxed during her stay!πŸˆβ€β¬›πŸŽΆπŸ’•
