🌿 Exciting news! We’re thrilled to welcome the wonderful Gaby Porter to Yellow Bamboo Studio this autumn for three special Somatic Movement workshops!

Gaby is a highly experienced yoga teacher and Somatic Exercise Coach, trained with Donna Farhi and Lisa Petersen, and regularly assists at their trainings. Her approach is warm, empowering, and deeply supportive.

🗓️ Living and Moving with Ease: Hanna Somatic Movement Series

Saturdays, 2:00–5:00 PM at Yellow Bamboo Studio

🔹 4 October – Finding ease and support for movement
🔹 25 October – Walking with all of ourselves
🔹 15 November – Freeing our neck, shoulders, and upper body

“Simple, yet profound” – a participant’s words on Hanna Somatics.

This gentle but powerful practice, developed by Thomas Hanna, reconnects you to your body’s natural ease, freedom, and resilience. It’s ideal for anyone wanting to release tension, move with more awareness, or simply feel better in their body. It awakens neuromuscular connections that may have gone into hibernation and enables us to move with greater ease, flexibility and freedom. We may feel more grounded, centred and resilient.
The movement sequences are empowering, offering resources to maintain and enhance your physical wellbeing. They may help you to become aware of unhelpful patterns or habits and explore movements to consciously change them, particularly to release deeply held tension or discomfort.

Open to all—no experience necessary. You’ll need to be comfortable lying on the floor. Spaces are limited to ensure individual support.

£35 per session or £90 for all three.

🌿 90-Minute Healing Experience 🌿

Join us on Friday, 29 August, 7:00 - 8:30 PM for a transformative session combining Postural Energetics, Relaxing Meditation, and a deeply immersive Gong & Sound Bath.

✨ Sound healing works by creating vibrations that restore balance and harmony in the body and mind. As Contreaux explains, “Gongs open up your chakras and release blocked energy, much like acupuncture or massage – it truly is a sound massage.”

💫 Benefits of Sound Therapy:
🔹 Deep relaxation
🔹 Reduced stress & anxiety
🔹 Enhanced mood & well-being
🔹 Improved sleep & focus
🔹 A sense of rejuvenation

Experience the power of sound and resonance for just £20.

Man on the Mat, Mark Smith is joining Yellow Bamboo Yoga, starting Sunday 1st June.

Ashtanga style yoga, 10-11am.

Mark is a strong advocate for Yoga not only being great for the body but also great for the mind. He is a firm believer that the mind is the chief and the rest will follow and so when practicing yoga with a mind first philosophy.

He says: “I can reset my mood, recharge my mind and on the days that I can find my centre and work from there I can move with peace and joy. The body slowly adapts to what I’m doing and I happily let it take its time and watch what it is saying from within”

What he brings as a teacher?

“Hard to answer without sounding egotistical. I am kind and caring and humorous (bad Humor but I try 🙂 ) I have helped people from many different walks of life. Athletes, elite yogis, cancer patients, wheel chair users and people suffering from long term mental health issues. Due to this I have developed a softer approach, yes I will push you to be your best but I will not judge in any way, especially if you can not do a particular asana as it is prescribed in a traditional text. Variations and adaptations are great and I love to see people making progress.”
