Workshop Information
The body has three primary stress responses that hijack your posture and movement patterns. These responses are hardwired into unconscious neuromuscular reflexes. This workshop teaches you to recognise these reflexes, understand how they affect you, and to move out of pain and into ease with simple and accessible somatic exercises. We’ll explore the three primary neuromuscular reflexes in the body. You’ll sense, feel and re-pattern your soma (body-mind) and discover ease, flexibility, balance and co-ordination.

Sound Bath Journey

Join us for a deeply relaxing Sound Bath experience, a restorative evening designed to help you unwind, reset, and reconnect. These sessions are a favourite at the studio and are usually fully booked, so early booking is recommended.

Through the gentle vibrations of crystal singing bowls, gongs, and other therapeutic instruments, you’ll be guided into a state of deep rest where the nervous system can soften and the body can naturally release tension. Sound baths can support relaxation, mental clarity, emotional balance, and a sense of overall wellbeing.

A Fond Farewell & A Warm Welcome!

After five wonderful years at the studio, we’re saying a heartfelt goodbye to Julie, our much-loved Monday evening Hatha yoga teacher (6:15–7:15pm). Julie has been a steady, calming presence in the studio, and we’re so grateful for the care, dedication, and warmth she has shared with our community over the years. While we’ll miss her deeply, we wish her every happiness in her next chapter 💛

At the same time, we’re delighted to welcome the lovely Sylvia, who will be taking over the Monday evening Hatha class. Sylvia brings a thoughtful, grounding approach to Hatha yoga, a practice that focuses on steady movement, breath awareness, and mindful alignment. Hatha is a beautifully balanced style of yoga, ideal for building strength, flexibility, and calm, and for creating space to slow down and reconnect at the end of the day.

We’re excited for this new chapter and hope you’ll join us in giving Sylvia a warm Yellow Bamboo welcome.

We’re excited to welcome back Gaby Porter to Yellow Bamboo Studio for a nourishing afternoon of Somatic Movement focused on posture, ease, and awareness.

Gaby is a highly experienced yoga teacher and Somatic Exercise Coach, trained with Donna Farhi and Lisa Petersen, and regularly assists at their trainings. Her teaching style is warm, empowering, and deeply supportive.

This workshop explores how our posture and movement patterns develop—and how we can gently change them. Through simple, mindful movement, you’ll be guided to release unnecessary tension, improve ease of movement, and reconnect with your body’s natural balance and freedom.

Expect:

Gentle, floor-based somatic movements

Increased awareness of habitual movement patterns

Tools to support comfort, ease, and resilience in everyday life

This practice is suitable for all levels. No previous experience is needed, just a willingness to move slowly and with curiosity. You’ll need to be comfortable lying on the floor. Spaces are limited to allow for individual support.
