This Myopia Awareness Week, we are promoting the importance of children’s eye care. We know a trip to the optician can be daunting for little ones but we strive to make eye care relaxed and easy.

Our Optometrists are experts at performing thorough eye examinations using kid-friendly techniques - even for those who haven’t learned their letters yet.

It’s Myopia Awareness Week and this year the theme is “Start Early, Protect Vision for Life” 🤓
Myopia or shortsightedness is a common vision condition where far vision is blurred. It can affect daily quality of life and can increase the risk of developing certain eye diseases.
Early intervention makes all the difference so these 3 actions are recommended:
1️⃣ Book annual eye examinations for school-aged children: regular eye checks are important for vision and eye health. Early detection of myopia can allow us to use myopia control methods to slow progression as well as correct vision.
2️⃣ Encourage daily outdoor play for a minimum of 2 hours: natural light and distance gazing is beneficial for children’s eye health.
3️⃣ Spread the word about myopia: spreading awareness of how important regular checks are is a great start.
