As part of innovative research with the University of Roehampton, six Cinnamon care homes are the first in the country to receive a Take Note Music in Care award, which highlights the benefits of music and people living with dementia.
It is proven that music acts as a powerful therapeutic tool for dementia, bypassing damaged brain areas to stimulate emotional, cognitive, and sensory networks, often evoking long-forgotten memories.
Professor Adam Ockelford and Senior Researcher Dr Fi Costa from the University of Roehampton led the study with Cinnamon Care Collection Wellbeing & Lifestyle Manager, Geoff Pride.
