Wow!! Go Jasbinder Chana Natural Health and Wellbeing!!

Awesome feedback from Jas' clients below 😍

I know I am terrible at updating things on Facebook but just wanted to share what a lovely week it’s been in clinic and that I am feeling very blessed. In this Five Element season of Fire, I recognise that joy for me is also achieved through sharing.

I was given these beautiful flowers from one of my lovely patients who has been struggling with a lot of emotional issues. She said that she was so thankful of the space and non judgemental chats we shared in her last session which allowed her to offload some very heavy feelings she had been carrying and hadn’t been able to speak with anyone about it.

One of my long standing patients that I helped through two complex pregnancies got back in touch because she felt exhausted and knew that she needed some acupuncture again to boost up her reserves before her maternity leave ends.

Another of my patients sent me a 12 week pregnancy scan after a history of several miscarriages πŸŒŸπŸ’–πŸ™

One of my fertility patients, sent a photo of her little son who arrived safely at the weekend, again a complex health history with miscarriages and treatment through the last 18 months to regulate her cycle,

Another who has been dealing with a great deal of stress and anxiety following the sudden hospitalisation of her child reported that she had slept through the night and hadn’t had an episode of physical shaking in over a week, which she had been experiencing intensely and daily for the last six weeks.

πŸ’ͺ The gut is the key to your overall state of health and wellbeing. Maintaining a health gut microbiome can help to improve immunity, protect against pathogens and studies have shown that it significantly influences mood and 🧠 function.

🦠 When it's out of sync, then this is when dis-order can occur, which presents itself differently depending on the individual.

πŸ§™πŸ§™β€β™€οΈ If you need expert health advice on this and want to help yourself to get better, then do book in with Jo or Hari who can provide the relevant advice and support you.

🌬️ Regulating the breath may help to reduce stress, anxiety and promote good sleep.

It's about controlling the use of the diaphragm which contracts when we breathe in, allowing the lungs to stretch and expand sand when breathing out relaxes back and reduces the air in the lungs.

Diaphragmatic breathing helps strengthen the diaphragm and slow your breath rate.

Sit in a comfortable position.

Place one hand on your chest and one hand on your belly. The bottom hand should do the moving. The top hand should remain still.

Inhale through your nose for about 4 seconds. Feel your abdomen expand.

Hold your breath for 2 seconds, if you can.

Exhale smoothly through the nose for 6 seconds.

It's half term, so a good opportunity to de-stress and take time out. Whether you're studying for exams or life in general is getting a bit much, here are some helpful tips:

🫁 Relaxation Exercises: Engage in breathing or imagery exercises or imagery may help to slow your breathing, reduce your heart rate, and stress hormones. Focus on the breath or imagine being in a peaceful place like the beach or mountains

πŸ‘Ÿ Exercise & Physical Activity: Regular exercise, such as walking, yoga, working out at the gym can release endorphins, which are natural mood boosters.

🌳 Get Outside: Being outdoors and connecting with nature is a great way to calm the mind

🍎 Balanced diet: A healthy diet, with plenty of organic, locally produced fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains and proteins can help to elevate a state of calm.

πŸ“΄ Switching Off: Ensure you put that phone down and get adequate rest, especially before bed as good quality sleep can have an anti-stress effect.

If stress becomes overwhelming, and you need further support, get in touch with us. Our resident acupuncturist Jas Chana is also running some drop in ear acupuncture sessions to assist with exams season and general stress management. Contact Jas directly for more info: acupuncture@jchana.com
