National Housekeeping Week – Day 1 🌟
This week, we’re celebrating the unsung heroes who work tirelessly behind the scenes to keep Rivermede Court Care Home clean, welcoming, and full of warmth — our incredible housekeeping team! 🧽✨

Today, we’re proud to shine a spotlight on two amazing team members: Rose and Viktoria 💐

🧹 Rose has been part of the Rivermede family for an impressive 4.5 years and was recently promoted to Hospitality Supervisor, overseeing both our Housekeeping and Hospitality departments! Rose says the whole Rivermede team is amazing to work with, and in her spare time, she loves nothing more than spending time with her 10 grandchildren! 👵💕

🧼 Viktoria joined us a year ago and has been a valued member of the housekeeping team ever since. She enjoys chatting with our residents and even joins in the occasional game of Dominoes! 🁫🎲 Outside of work, Victoria loves camping with friends and family and says she truly enjoys being part of the Rivermede team.

👏 We’re so grateful for Rose, Viktoria, and the entire housekeeping team who help make our home such a special place.

🎉 Each day this week we’ll be introducing more of our fantastic team members — and we’ll be celebrating them all with raffle prizes and a team lunch on Friday!

Meet Harnish Ghataore – Our Visiting Chiropodist 👣

We’re proud to have Harnish Ghataore as part of the Rivermede Court Care Home community. A highly experienced chiropodist with over 13 years in the profession, Harnish has been visiting our home for the past four years, providing exceptional foot care to our residents.

Harnish shares that he truly enjoys his visits to Rivermede, saying:
“The residents are always so pleased to see me—it makes my job even more rewarding.”

We’re grateful for the care and professionalism Harnish brings each time he visits. Thank you, Harnish, for helping our residents stay comfortable and well cared for!

Our residents have been busy turning recycled tree supports into the most adorable wooden family – full of charm, character, and rhythm. 🌳💚 Reduce ♻️ Reuse ♻️ Recycle is one of our favourite activities, and this project has been pure joy!

Congratulations to Hanka, Our Wellbeing & lifestyle coordinator! 🌟

We are delighted to share that Hanka, our dedicated Lead Wellbeing and lifestyle coordinator, has successfully completed and achieved her Level 3 Qualification in Quality Activity Provision.

This comprehensive course is designed for professionals who lead and coordinate activities within care settings, with a strong focus on dementia care and community engagement.

Hanka thoroughly enjoyed the learning experience, and we are incredibly proud of her accomplishment here at Rivermede Court Care Home.

Chrissie has been a valued part of Rivermede Court Care Home since we first opened. Formerly our hairdresser, she has spent the last three years offering regular nail care to our residents, visiting every two weeks to provide a much-appreciated pampering experience. 💅

In addition to this, Chrissie also volunteers with Hanka and the Wellbeing Team, supporting residents on trips and days out. She genuinely enjoys her time at Rivermede, and her willingness to help—never hesitating to lend a hand—speaks volumes about her dedication.

We are incredibly proud to share that Chrissie was recognised with the NAPA Unsung Hero Award in 2024 and the Runnymede Civic Award in 2025. She is truly an inspiration, and we are so fortunate to have her as part of our community. 🏆

Today Robyn our Home admissions advisor went along to the Egham Royal Show .

Our residents had entered their beautifully home grown vegetables into the home and garden competition. Our apples & carrots came third place🥉. Our strangest shaped veg came 2nd 🏅 and our onions were commended. So well done Rivermede Court Care Home .

It's a fantastic day for all of the family with lots to do such as;

🟡 Livestock marquee displaying sheep, pigs and cattle

🟢 Horticulture marquee displaying homegrown produce & flowers along with handmade crafts and baked goods. As well as Floral Art.

Today, our residents at Rivermede Court Care Home enjoyed a delightful lunch thoughtfully prepared by our talented chef, Jose.

The meal began with a refreshing beetroot, mango, and avocado tarte, followed by a classic main course of fish and chips served with tartar sauce and peas. To finish, residents indulged in a rich chocolate bread and butter pudding with custard.

Mealtimes at Rivermede are not only about delicious food but also a wonderful opportunity for residents to relax, socialise, and enjoy each other’s company.

Welcome to the team, Diana! ⭐️

We’re excited to welcome Diana to the Rivermede Court Care Home team. Originally from Zambia, Diana has been working in the care sector since moving to the UK in 2023. Her previous experience has been primarily in domiciliary care, supporting individuals in their own homes.

This role in a care home setting is a new chapter for her, but one she is thoroughly enjoying. Diana has shared how much she loves getting to know the residents and finds great joy in making them smile. She especially appreciates the variety that each day brings.

We're thrilled to have Diana on board and look forward to the positive impact she'll continue to make.😊👏

💰✨ What a treasure we discovered in the Royal Mint Museum Box! ✨💰

Our residents loved diving into the history of money, exploring the fascinating items, and sharing stories that kept us chatting for hours 🗣️📜. The activities brought to life by our well-being and lifestyle team made it even more engaging – from coins to curiosities - every piece had a story to tell and songs ro sing! 🪙🔍 🎶

🌱🍎🥒 A huge well done to our gardening team for all their hard work this year!

We’ve had a fantastic season of growing fruit and vegetables. This year we even tried our hand at cucamelons – a fun new addition to the garden. Sadly, the peanuts turned out to be more of a slug feast than a harvest for us! 🐌 Never-ending battle.

That said, we had better luck with our plums. Last year the pigeons got every single one, but this year we managed to pick 35 beautiful, juicy, sweet plums – they disappeared within minutes of being picked! ✨

Next week we’re very excited to be taking part in the Royal Show, where we’ll be displaying our crops with pride. We can’t wait to share what we’ve grown with everyone! 🌿🥕🍓
