We would like to take a moment to show our appreciation to the incredible district nurses who support us here at Rivermede Court Care Home .

Your dedication, compassion, and professionalism make such a difference to the lives of our residents, and we are so grateful for the care you provide whenever you visit us.

As a small token of our thanks, we were delighted to invite you in to enjoy lunch on us —a chance for us to say thank you for everything you do.

From intergenerational to international — our journey of connection continues in the most beautiful way 💛✨ 🌍🎶🌸

Back in January at the National Activity Providers Association conference in Liverpool, our activity team made a wonderful new friendship with a care home in Japan, bonding over the music of Czech composer Bedřich Smetana 🎶🇨🇿🇯🇵 🇬🇧
When we returned home, we shared the experience with our residents, and in late February we sent a letter filled with photos and warm messages.

A few weeks ago, we received the most thoughtful reply — a stunning origami cherry blossom paper set and a beautiful cherry blossom card 🌸📮
A true gift of culture, creativity, and kindness.

That afternoon, we all settled into our armchairs and “travelled” to Japan — exploring traditions, learning about cherry blossom season, and of course, creating our reply together. A meaningful exchange of stories, memories, and friendship across continents 🌍💌✨

This is what community looks like — not just across generations, but across the world.
A new friendship has begun, and we can’t wait to see where this cultural journey takes us next.

A Day at Bocketts Farm 🐑🌾💛

One of our absolute favourite places to visit is Bocketts Farm in Leatherhead — a wonderful family‑run farm where our residents feel at home the moment they arrive 🌾💛

Every visit, we are welcomed with open arms, warm smiles, and meaningful conversations that stay with us long after we leave. The team always remembers our residents’ names, and that personal touch makes all the difference — it creates moments that truly matter 🥰✨

There was also a truly lovely element of community interaction throughout the day — our residents chatting with families and their children about the farm animals, sharing stories, laughter, and maybe even a song or two… but we’re not telling 🤭🎶🐐

And yes… we absolutely went on the tractor ride 🚜😄
The laughter, the views, the joy — pure magic for everyone.

A huge thank you to Ruby, Alfie, Jane, Poppy and Angela — you were our sunshine on this visit. Thank you for looking after us so beautifully and making every moment special 🌞💛

We can’t wait to return.

The Great Rivermede Radish Saga 🌱🤣👑

There is absolutely nothing better than freshly picked vegetables from your own garden — especially when the sun is shining and you fancy a nice healthy crunchy snack in the fresh air 😋☀️🥕

Gardening and harvesting are some of the most joyful, resident‑led activities we offer here at Rivermede Court. The pride, the laughter, the teamwork… it’s all part of the magic 👩‍🌾👨‍🌾💚

And of course, we’re gearing up for the Royal Windsor Flower Show 🌸👑 not long now.
But this year, we have a plot twist…

Our radishes have decided to take us on a journey.
Some days they’re thriving.
Some days they’re dramatic.
And some days… they’re simply not in the mood 🤣😂

Will they make it in time?
Will they stage a last‑minute comeback?
Will they even show up at all?

A Musical Afternoon to Remember 🎺🎶💛

What a truly lovely afternoon we spent at our very own concert at the local primary school. A huge thank you to Year 4 and Year 5 for putting on such a wonderful brass band and choir performance — our residents were absolutely glowing with joy 🎶😊💛

Moments like these remind us just how powerful community and intergenerational connections really are. When generations come together, something special happens: confidence grows, stories are shared, and both sides walk away feeling valued, inspired and connected.

Our residents cherished every minute — the music, the conversations, the smiles, the warmth.
A beautiful reminder that learning and joy flow in both directions 🌟👵👦

We can’t wait to see what project we’ll create together next. The possibilities are endless when community leads the way 💛🌱✨

It was great for Robyn to attend the Business in Surrey Expo at Sandown Park Racecourse today.

Events like this are a great reminder of how powerful networking can be—building relationships, sharing ideas, and creating opportunities that you simply don’t get behind a desk. It’s always valuable to connect with like-minded professionals, learn from others, and strengthen local partnerships.

It was lovely to see some familiar faces and we look forward to following up with the fantastic people Robyn met! 🤝
