Massage is more than touch. It is the whole therapeutic interaction.
🛋️ The room, warmth, lighting and music
👂 The way the therapist listens and responds
🤝 The client feeling safe, believed and not rushed

All of that wraps around skilled touch. Together, they help the nervous system step out of constant stress mode. Sympathetic drive eases, parasympathetic processes come forward and the body gets a break. Any cortisol change is downstream of that bigger shift, not the main event.
