Over the xmas and New Year period we undertook a car job that took 149 hours work😫😫. This wasn't just a valet,...it was a full restoration job on the interior and exterior! To be honest if it was an insurance claim,..it would have been written off as an economically unviable repair.
BUT,...we decided to have a go at it. Basically someone had spilled a tub of tile grout on the rear leather seats which had went into the leather interior, ran on to the carpets and then welded itself to the vehicle floor and left to harden, (really harden!). 2nd and 3rd row seats were removed as well as the carpets and we eventually managed to remove the material. The grout was bedded into the seat runners and the perforations of the leather so this was painstakingly removed.
The exterior paintwork was horrendous with 10 years of neglect, but this was multistage machine polished then ceramic coated.
This is just a very basic description of the work involved, but really it was a (restoration)!

It's time to start booking your pride and joy in for spring work, as we get very busy around the time just before campsites open up, and may not be able to fit you in at short notice.

Here at Moray Shine, we provide services of caravan / motorhome washes, and exterior polishes for our customers.
On an exterior polish, the vehicle is firstly washed, then decontaminated to remove anything stuck to it that shouldn't be, locker seals cleaned, inside of front gas locker cleaned, wheels cleaned, etc.
Then I machine polish the vehicle, to remove oxidisation, etc. Depending on how bad this is, it may take several stages to bring the vehicle back to life!
The compounds I use contain a percentage of wax within them, but additional coatings can also be applied to customer requirements.
We polish behind the windows, grab handles, etc, etc as well.
Depending on how badly it is faded, this process can take between 25 and 50 hours work.
Usually the worst vehicles have had covers on them over winter, or on front panels, which do sweat and flap around causing scuffs and fading and these require substantial work to remedy.
Caravan and motorhome covers of any description are a valeter's nightmare!!

35 degrees here, caravan panels far too hot for polishing 🤦😳😳,…. But a good excuse for going a run on this😂😂

We will be participating in the Huntly xmas eve charity road run again this year with the Moray Shine Kubota💯👍
It will be decorated a bit different for this year.

This nice Isuzu pickup received an interior valet, wheels cleaned & coated, and a machine polish followed by a ceramic based coating.
All protected for this winter weather. 💯👍

This Mercedes SLK200 received an interior valet, several stage machine polish and a ceramic coating last week. Beautiful car and colour.
