Elland Foot Clinic is excited to offer a new treatment called Curacorn®. As part of the roll out, I am looking for 5 patients to participate in a study. I am offering the treatment at a heavily discounted rate. The cost will be £150 in total. I have included some FAQs below:

What is CuracornĀ®?
CuracornĀ® is an innovative treatment using hyaluronic acid gel injections to cushion ā€˜inside’ the skin to help prevent painful pressure lesions such as corns & calluses.
This makes it a perfect treatment for people who lead busy lives and want their foot pain gone once and for all.

What Can CuracornĀ® Help With?

-Corns and Callus - CuracornĀ® (hyaluronic acid) helps to prevent the buildup of painful skin lesions.

-Fat Pad Atrophy - As we age, the natural ā€˜fatty pad’ in our feet atrophies (wears away). CuracornĀ® provides a ā€˜new’ fat pad helping to relieve pain from direct bone to skin contact.

-Interdigital Corns or Callus - For corns and callus that form between the toes due to repetitive friction, CuracornĀ® acts as cushion to prevent continuous friction between two toes.

-Sports / Athlete related foot pain - Athletes, runners or anyone involved in high impact sports, CuracornĀ® reduces impact and any pressure discomfort.

How Does CuracornĀ® Work?

-CuracornĀ® involves painlessly injecting a viscous, hyaluronic acid gel under your skin to cushion the forefoot, heel or toes to prevent pain and hard skin formation. Unlike other ā€˜dermal fillers’ Curacorn is a highly concentrated hyaluronic acid with a thicker, long-lasting texture.

Will the CuracornĀ® procedure hurt?

-CuracornĀ® is carried out under local anaesthetic which makes the procedure painless. Any pain from the local anaesthetic is minimal and short lived. The injection of hyaluronic acid is completely pain-free.

What are the benefits of CuracornĀ®?

-Almost instant pressure relief

-Prevention of callus and corn formation

-Significant reduction in pain

-Improved quality of life

-Moisture retention

-Reduces the risk of ulceration (a wound)

Why Choose CuracornĀ® at Elland Foot Clinic?

-Safe and clinically effective

-Procedure is carried out by a qualified HCPC
registered podiatrist

-No waiting times

-Minimally invasive

-Relief can last up to 18 months, sometimes longer

-Improved, pain-free mobility

-Prevents lesion recurrence

Is CuracornĀ® suitable for everyone?

CuracornĀ® is not suitable for the following groups:

-Anyone under the age of 18

-Anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding

-Anyone on chemotherapy

Are there any side effects associated with CuracornĀ®?

-The area will be slightly swollen immediately after, this is normal

-There may be tenderness for 24 hours after the procedure

-You should keep your foot up for 24 hours to allow the gel to work properly

-To summarise, hyaluronic acid gel has been used for many years and is safe to inject.

It will be a first come, first serve basis so please get in touch via email if you are interested at info@ellandfootclinic.uk

Best wishes,

Had a brilliant weekend training for Curacorn which is an innovative treatment for stubborn corns and pressure lesions. The training was led by Catherine and Charlotte who are exemplary professionals, as well as lovely people. I would highly recommend this course to any podiatrist who wants to learn cutting edge treatments. I also had the privilege of meeting John McGinn (a fellow podiatrist) who absolutely smashed the training who I will no doubt be keeping in touch with!

Stay tuned as Curacorn will be coming to Elland Foot Clinic in the very near future!

NHS England reported 3,890 ingrown toenails presented at A&E last winter. Podiatrists are the experts in foot and lower limb care and can provide specialist care for ingrown nails, including minor surgery to resolve them. Check with your local NHS for podiatry access criteria or find your nearest private podiatrist at https://rcpod.org.uk/find-a-podiatrist and save A&E for the critical care.

How will nail surgery benefit you?

āœ” Long-term relief – Nail surgery provides a permanent solution for recurring ingrown or painful toenails, stopping the cycle of swelling, infection, and discomfort.

āœ” Quick procedure – It’s carried out under local anaesthetic and usually takes less than an hour.

āœ” Minimal discomfort – Most patients experience very little pain during or after the procedure.

āœ” Fast recovery – You can walk straight after the surgery, with only a small dressing required.

āœ” Reduces infections – Removing the problematic section of nail prevents repeated infections and inflammation.

āœ” Improves mobility – Eliminating chronic pain allows you to walk, exercise, and wear shoes comfortably again.

āœ” High success rate – Permanent removal of the problematic nail edge is highly effective and rarely grows back.

āœ” Better nail appearance – The nail often looks more natural and tidy once healed.

Verruca needling involves using a fine sterile needle to repeatedly puncture the wart and push viral-infected cells deeper into the skin’s tissue layers. This exposes the human papillomavirus (HPV) to the body’s immune system, which usually has difficulty recognising the virus when it stays in the superficial skin layers.

How it works:

• A local anaesthetic is used so the area becomes numb.
• The podiatrist punctures the wart many times with a needle.
• This causes tiny channels that allow the immune system to ā€œseeā€ and respond to the virus.
• Once the immune system reacts, not only the treated wart but other warts on the foot may also clear.

The image below is only 4 weeks after the procedure. It can take up 3 to months to clear.

šŸ’” What is Plantar Fasciitis?

Plantar fasciitis is a common condition that causes pain in the heel and bottom of the foot. It happens when the plantar fascia—a thick band of tissue that runs along the bottom of your foot from your heel to your toes—becomes irritated or inflamed.

šŸ” What Causes It?

The plantar fascia acts like a shock absorber and supports the arch of your foot. Repetitive stress or strain can cause small tears in the tissue, leading to inflammation. Common causes include:
• Overuse (running, walking long distances)
• Improper footwear (e.g., unsupportive shoes)
• Flat feet or high arches
• Tight calf muscles or Achilles tendon
• Obesity or sudden weight gain
• Standing for long periods

🩺 Symptoms
• Sharp pain in the heel (especially with the first steps in the morning or after sitting)
• Pain that improves with activity but returns after rest
• Pain after long periods of standing or walking

🧰 Treatment Options

Most cases can be treated without surgery:
1. Rest & Ice – Reduce inflammation.
2. Stretching exercises – Especially calf and foot stretches.
3. Supportive footwear or orthotics
4. Night splints – Keep the foot flexed overnight.
5. Physical therapy
6. Anti-inflammatory medications (e.g., ibuprofen)

If conservative treatments don’t help, options may include:
• Corticosteroid injections
• Shockwave therapy
• Surgery (rare)
