Had a great meeting with Chester Zoo to look at how the green spaces at the new medical centre can be utilised for the benefit of the community, We are working with them on ways to engage with the local community and patients to ensure you have a say on ways that you want to access and enjoy the green spaces of the site. What a great collaboration to get the health and wellbeing village going. The aim will be to encourage as many people as possible to engage with green spaces for health and wellbeing benefits.

5. close contacts of immuno-compromised individuals
6. frontline workers in a social care setting
7. frontline health care workers, including both clinical and non-clinical staff who have contact with patients

GP Contract Changes clarification.

We are aware that the new GP contract changes that started yesterday are being discussed and causing confusion for all patients.

The main changes imposed are - From Wednesday 1st October, every GP practice in England must keep their online booking open all day during working hours (8am-6:30pm) - no more closing these systems and forcing everyone onto jammed phone lines.

For us as a practice this won't change anything, as we brought this change in a number of weeks ago.

It means patients do not have to ring at 8am and wait in a queue to be triaged. Instead you can put in an online consultation request (Patch) any time of the day and this will be triaged. This does not however mean that every request will be given an appointment on the day and as we follow the BMA's safe working guidance for clinicians when our team is at capacity it will still mean we are at capacity. If a Patient is urgent they will be added to our on call Duty doctors list and In emergencies, will be signposted to the most suitable external service.

All Patch's will be responded to and any patients struggling with completing a patch will be supported to do so via our reception team.

We have set a date of Sat 8th November for a community open day. This will give anyone interested the chance to see what the inside of the GP practice is like. You will be able to see the new community spaces, clinic rooms and back office's. You will also be able to ask questions about how the new practice will operate.

With the exciting final works taking place on site, the practice is starting to focus on what community value the practice and the site can provide. This has meant some very exciting new links and conversations with Brio, University College Birmingham and Chester Zoo to make the site the complete health and wellbeing offer we are planning.
