Well she did it! 2 weeks of no very nice tests, 2 trips to theatre and 3 different types of NG tubes. But she smashed it and was so unbelievably brave. Every one here at Great Ormand Street has told her how well she has done and have been so kind and supportive to her needs and wishes. We are heading home today instead of tomorrow which is a bonus for us both. But I just wanted to say thank you for all the messages and support we both have received. Its so far away from home for 2 weeks and has felt so isolating at times so thank you!
Mamma is so proud of you Pops!

The bravest of them all! 1st week of tests done! 1 week to go! Super proud 🥰

So tomorrow this amazing person is getting admitted to Great Ormond Street for 2 weeks for multiple tests to see if they can figure out what is causing these episodes with her digestive system. She is taking it all in her stride and although shes is nervous as these tests are not very pleasant, she is praying they can help her in any way! We will be taking time away from social media while there but will keep people updated. She really is my hero ❤️

We have been a bit quiet on Poppy's page for a while for personal reasons. But I just wanted to jump on quickly to say how very proud I am of Poppy. Last day of Year 7 today and then a nice week in Spain. Her school report was fantastic and shes done well to try and catch up. We have dates for 2 week stay at Great Ormand Street for end of Aug so a nice holiday is definitely needed for her. She is doing so well and growing into a feisty young lady and Im very proud of everything she achieves.

Quote:- Your illness doesnt define you as a person, your strength and courage does
Last week Poppy had her 1st orthopedic appointment over the increased pain in her knees. Poppy already suffers with joint and muscle pain especially in her legs hips and back. The orthopedic diagnosis her with osgood-schlatter disease. Hopefully with direct area physio this will ease. Osgood-Schlatter disease (OSD) is swelling and irritation of the growth plate at the top of the shinbone. A growth plate is a layer of cartilage near the end of a bone where most of the bone's growth happens. It is weaker and more at risk for injury than the rest of the bone.
Poppy has been trying super hard every day and apart from a few days visits to our local hospital due to pain she is doing really well.

There's nothing quite like witnessing the courage of your child. My daughter, you are so incredibly brave and I admire you more than words can say. She has managed 4 mornings in school this week even after an emergency trip to the children's ward. I know it's been difficult Poppy Power but you did it! Few hours at your favourite place ⛱️💞

So proud of this one! This week she faced huge anxiety, going back to Alder Hey yesterday for an appointment and going into school for a few hours this morning for the 1st time since Feb. Both of these she smashed, as usual. Her strength amazes me at times. To some these may not be big achievements but to me they are the greatest. Well Done Pops 🎉

2 appointments this week for Pops and phased return to school at end of the week, just a few hours to see how she gets on. Poppy is still on alot of medication and although she hates it, she takes them all like a trooper. I am so proud of how she handles the life she has been dealt with, daily pain and discomfort with a smile..she's is incredible 💖

COMING SOON!

A new youth group will be opening before the summer and thanks to the young people who support Blades Down & Gloves Not Gangs we have a name - "The Link Ellesmere Port"

The young people voted on the name & also gave up their own opinions on what they want there.

With the addition of this new youth group, The KnockOut Violence Project, Fearless Futures and SOCIAL we will be providing Young People in Ellesmere Port with a safe space 3 nights a week!

Along with the already established Youth Club held at the Salavation Army ran by the amazing Cheshire West and Chester Youth Service, Young People in Ellesmere Port will now have access to so much more advice and support.

This is what it is all about working alongside other groups to create opportunities and safe spaces for our town!
