What’s The Secret Sauce to Business Success?

Employee Appreciation!

💡 Want to boost productivity, morale, and retention—all without spending a fortune? It’s simple: appreciate your employees!

Employees who feel valued work harder, stay longer, and contribute more. Yet, too many companies underestimate the power of recognition. A quick “thank you” or a simple shoutout can go a LONG way in keeping your team engaged and off job boards.

In my latest blog, I dive into why employee appreciation isn’t just a “nice to have”—it’s a business necessity! 🚀 Read more here: https://www.paulinemartinwellbeing.com/post/the-power-of-appreciation-keeping-employees-happy-productive-and-off-job-boards

Let’s be real—everyone likes to feel appreciated. Whether it’s a simple “thank you,” an email that doesn’t start with “per my last request,” or a surprise doughnut in the breakroom, small gestures go a long way. Yet, too many workplaces underestimate the power of employee appreciatio...

Kindness isn’t just good for others—it’s good for us too. 💙
Research shows that small acts of kindness—whether it’s buying a colleague a coffee, offering a word of encouragement, or simply holding the door open—boost our own happiness, reduce stress, and even improve workplace morale. When we give, we gain.
This Random Acts of Kindness Day (February 17th), let’s make kindness a priority—not just as individuals, but as organisations. A culture of kindness leads to more engaged, connected, and motivated teams.

💡 A huge shoutout to Collaborate Furniture, who are leading by example! They’ve given each of their team members £10 to go out and carry out a random act of kindness—a simple but powerful initiative that spreads positivity far beyond the workplace.

Why not get your team involved?
✔️ Start a kindness challenge
✔️ Give shoutouts for acts of generosity
✔️ Organise a team volunteering day

A small gesture can have a big impact. Let’s spread positivity and make kindness the norm in our workplaces.

What’s the kindest thing a colleague has ever done for you? Let’s celebrate those moments below! ⬇️

🐶 Paws for A Chat 🐶

Dogs at Work: The Secret to a Happier, More Creative Team

Meet Rocket – Rocket loves a cuddle.

Now Picture this: You’re knee-deep in deadlines, your inbox is overflowing, and your stress levels are rising… and then, a fluffy office dog trots over, gives you those puppy eyes, and suddenly—everything feels a little better. 🥰

It’s not just cute—it’s science! 👇

🐕 Dogs Reduce Stress: Just petting a dog lowers cortisol (stress hormone) and boosts oxytocin (the happy hormone). Who doesn’t need more of that during a busy workday?

💡 Boosts Creativity & Productivity: A quick dog break refreshes your brain. When you step away from a problem (especially with a four-legged friend), you’re more likely to come back with fresh ideas.

🤝 Encourages Team Bonding: Ever noticed how dogs bring people together? Office pups spark conversations, laughter, and collaboration—even across departments that rarely interact.

📉 Lowers Absenteeism: Studies show that pet-friendly workplaces have happier, healthier employees—meaning fewer sick days and burnout.

✨ The Ultimate Mood Booster: Let’s be honest—some days are just ruff. But having a wagging tail around makes everything feel a little brighter.

🐾 Want to bring these benefits to your workplace? 🐾

That’s where my Paws for A Chat sessions come in! My in-house drop-in wellbeing sessions bring a trained therapy dog into the workplace, giving employees a chance to get wellbeing support, de-stress, reset, and connect—all while enjoying some well-earned puppy love.

It’s a simple but powerful way to boost morale, mental health, and team spirit. Because sometimes, the best way to tackle workplace stress… is with a wagging tail and a wet nose. 🐶💛

🚨 BREAKING NEWS: We have finally reached the end of January—the longest month of the year. Scientists estimate it lasts roughly 74 days, but honestly, who’s counting?

Let’s check in: Who’s still going strong with their New Year’s resolutions? 🏋️‍♂️📚💰

🤸🏽Gym-goers: Are we still hitting the treadmill, or did we sprint straight into a “well-deserved rest day” on Jan 3rd… that never ended?

🍏Healthy eaters: Have we resisted the siren call of snacks, or are we now on a first-name basis with the Uber Eats driver?

💰Budgeters: Is our spending under control, or did we justify a splurge with “January doesn’t count, it’s a trial month”?

🤯The truth is, sticking to new habits is hard—not because we’re lazy, but because our brains love the familiar. Change feels uncomfortable. We tell ourselves, “I’ll start fresh on Monday” (but forget to specify which Monday).

So how do we actually make habits stick? Try this:

✔ Start ridiculously small – Want to read more? Read one page a day. Want to exercise? Do one push-up. (Yes, just one. You’ll probably do more.)

✔ Make it obvious – Set your gym clothes out the night before. Keep a water bottle on your desk. Reduce the friction between you and the habit.

✔ Stack it on something you already do – Want to floss? Do it after brushing your teeth. Want to journal? Do it with your morning coffee.

✔ Forgive slip-ups – One missed day isn’t failure. Missing two days is a pattern. Get back on track quickly.

✔ Make it fun – If you hate running, try dancing. If salads bore you, experiment with flavours. Discipline is easier when you actually enjoy the process.

So, if you’ve slipped up, don’t wait until 2026 to try again. Adjust, recommit, and keep going. Progress beats perfection. Take baby steps. 💪

Now, let’s celebrate making it through the marathon that is January—bring on February (aka January Part 2)! 🎉

👨🏻‍👩‍👧‍👦Parenting: The Ultimate Sanity Test

Did you know January 30th is Parent Mental Health Day?

The link between parent’s mental health and the wellbeing of the children sounds obvious, right?

🤔But when was the last time you actually thought about how your stress—work, bills, relationships—affects your kids?

Be honest: Do you set aside quality time for your family, or are you physically there but mentally replying to emails? Worse, if we’re too busy to notice, our kids might be finding entertainment in the darkest corners of the internet. Yikes.

🎁Parenting is tough—trust me, I’ve done the rounds: nuclear family, single mum, stepmum. It’s never a walk in the park (unless that park involves tantrums and lost shoes). But if there’s one gift worth giving, it’s your time—real, undistracted, screen-free time.

⌛Because here’s the deal: You can’t buy back time. One day, the kids leave. One day, we leave. And when that happens, work emails won’t be the memories they hold on to.

So today, do this:

💡 Set boundaries.

📵 Turn off the screens.

🗣️ Have an actual conversation.

We’re here for a blip. Let’s make it count. 💙

🗣️If you need to talk -I’m here

⛔If you want to learn how to set boundaries – I’m here

☺️If you’d love to reduce stress and build resilience – I’m here

😩This was me at 2am this morning...

🤯Wide awake. Sniffling. Coughing. Brain firing on all cylinders—thinking about everything from my to-do list to that embarrassing thing I said in 2014.

Not very "wellbeing," is it?

😕But you know what? I’m fine with this. Because I’m human. And I’m not afraid to show the world that, despite my knowledge of mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing, I don’t have it all figured out 100% of the time.

Too many of us feel like we have to present a polished, perfect, "living-my-best-life" version of ourselves—not just on social media but even to the people closest to us. But if we’re all pretending to be perfect… when do we ever stop and just be real?

📢 When do we admit we’re struggling?
📢 When do we let people in instead of pushing them away?
📢 When do we stop being "fine" and start being honest?

As a Wellbeing Coach, I know what a great sleep routine looks like. Do I follow it perfectly? Clearly not.

As a Menopause Coach, I know how to support my symptoms. Yet I still find my car keys in the fridge and my reading glasses in the dog’s water bowl.

I have all the mental fitness training to be a black belt in Resilience. But some days, Imposter Syndrome kicks in, and I just want to hide under a blanket and hope no one notices.

But here’s the thing—I talk about it. And I want you to talk about it too.

🌟Life isn’t always perfect. You aren’t always perfect. And that’s not just okay—it’s what makes you human. And the real, imperfect, beautifully flawed you is amazing.

🆘So, if you need someone to offload to, my diary is open. Not just because it was Blue Monday last week (I’m not into marketing gimmicks). Any day can be tough. Any day can throw you a curveball. And sometimes, we just need to talk to someone who gets it.

🗨️Drop me a message if you need a chat—about anything. Because struggling alone while pretending everything’s fine? That’s exhausting.

🗣️Let’s get talking, people. Your mental health depends on it. ❤️

We Made It! 🎉

Congrats on surviving the first full week of 2025! How are you all holding up? Let’s check in:

✅Still sticking to your New Year’s Resolutions?

✅Eating like a wellness guru?

✅Still on that alcohol-free month or did "Dry January" become "Damp Thursday"?

✅Exercising daily or just counting trips to the fridge as cardio?

✅Remembering to be kinder—or just avoiding people entirely?

If you’re crushing it, high five! 🖐️ If you’ve already wrestled with a cookie monster relapse (hi, leftover Christmas chocolate 🍫) or abandoned your goals like they owe you rent, no shame. You're in good company.

Here's the thing: Most of us fall back into old habits faster than your gym clears out by February. The sneaky culprit? Your saboteurs—those inner voices convincing you that change is impossible, or that you totally deserve that third donut. (Spoiler alert: they lie.)

But good news! You can shut them down. Imagine:

✨ Crushing your goals

✨ Communicating like a pro

✨ Stress melting away (bye, stress sweats)

✨ Feeling resilient, calm, and all-around awesome

Curious? Let’s chat about how my 6-week Mental Fitness Programme can fit into your schedule—and help you level up your life, your work, and maybe even your relationships. Bonus points if you bring your whole team along for the ride!

Ready to win 2025? Let’s make it happen. 💪

🏈Get your head in the game.

Life is not a spectator sport, it’s for participation, new adventures and endless possibilities – if you could only just manage to get your head in the right mindset.

That’s the bit that a lot of people struggle with. Staying in a positive, curious mindset.

And that’s why working on your mental fitness is so important, because if you’re not mentally fit to face everyday challenges with a positive mental attitude, curiosity and resilience, how the hell are you going to cope with life’s wrecking balls when they come swinging towards you – which they will from time to time.

There’s so much blurb about physical fitness and diet during January (which are of course also important) but I’m not seeing so much about us hitting the ground running and signing up to improve our mental fitness.

Well, that’s exactly what I want to encourage you to do. Work on your resilience, build your coping strategies, learn to fully understand yourself better so you can recognise when you are self-sabotaging. Knowing how to stop that behaviour in its tracks and turn it around is a skill that will help you achieve those big wins, build your confidence and improve how you communicate with others.

Just think how you could improve your performance, your relationships and your wellbeing. How great would life feel then.

🫱🏼‍🫲🏼Let’s connect so I can tell you more about my 12-week mental fitness and wellbeing programme. In true January sales style, there is a special offer on the table for January, so don’t miss out on grabbing the opportunity to build those mental muscles in 2025 😊

🎆Start the New Year by Prioritising Your Mental Fitness

🤿The new year is here—a fresh start, new goals, and endless possibilities. But how often do we dive into January with big plans, only to feel overwhelmed by February?

💪🏼That’s where mental fitness comes in. Just like physical fitness, it’s about building strength and resilience—but for your mind. It helps you handle challenges, stay focused, and bounce back stronger.

🗓️Starting now is key. A mentally fit you can tackle the year ahead with clarity, confidence, and calm—not just for yourself, but for the people who count on you, too.

😄Let’s make this year about thriving, not just surviving. How will you prioritise your mental fitness in 2025?
