Fion Yoga

Fion Yoga Yoga is the union of mind, body and spirit. Teaching yoga is my passion and yoga is for everybody Fion was 800 hours trained and qualified.

Fion was born and brought up in Hong Kong, a highly populated, fast pace and busy city, which was a British colony until 1997. She moved to UK with her family in 2016 and started teaching yoga in Ely, Cambridgeshire. She was an IT and Business Project Manager for over 10 years including 7 years with adidas Sourcing HQ. In 2014, Fion gave up her corporate role and followed her passion and dream to become a yoga teacher. She completed her 200 hours fundamental yoga teacher training in International Yoga Academy in Hong Kong, followed by another 300 hours advanced Hatha yoga teacher training under the guidance of Master Yogananth Andiappan. She then furthered her studies with 200 hours of yoga therapy in Asana Andiappan Yoga College in Chennai India. She was also certified on Pregnancy yoga in Camyoga, Yin yoga in Mokshala Yoga Centre and Mindfulness certification in the Hive in the UK. With regular practice and learnings, she noticed the balance and union yoga brings to her body, mind, and spirit. She would like to share her passion and knowledge and influence people to practice yoga regularly, enjoy and realize the benefits that yoga can bring to oneself. Fion is a qualified yoga teacher on traditional Hatha, Sun Vinyasa, Yin, Pregnancy, mindfulness, private class for special needs and yoga as therapeutic and preventative measures for all abilities.

As 2025 approaches it’s end, I would like to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to those who have showed up to my classes, for your effort, commitment, presence and beautiful energy.

It was a joy to see the progress in your practice and forming friendships with the people around you.

I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to guide you, witness your growth and be part of your yoga journey. You’re my students, friends and Guru, I’ve learned so much from teaching people with different needs.

Thank you so much for your continued support, have a wonderful time at Christmas and New Year.

Come to join Fion’s charity yoga class at Fresh. on Fri 28th November to raise funds for the installation of a defibrillator.

Defibrillators are essential in communities because they can significantly increase the chances of survival in cardiac arrest emergencies.

Cardiac arrest occurs due to a malfunction in the heart’s electrical system, leading to irregular heart rhythms, but it can also be triggered by various heart conditions and external factors.

This defibrillator will be installed outside Fresh’s studios in Ely, which can be used in the event of an emergency, either in the building or by anyone in our local area.

Join me for a Yang and Yin practice 7-8.15pm on Friday 28th Nov. to energize your body and nourish your soul. Booking is now opened; you may choose to donate via your card or in cash when you come for the class.

Extended Yoga Class for Core Strength and Arm Balancing

Yoga is a perfect practice to build strength. Yoga poses can activate and strengthen muscles. Scientific research supports the idea that yoga can contribute to strength gains, particularly when practiced consistently and with intensity.

Fion will guide you through a series of core strengthening poses to build a strong foundation and stability. We’ll also practice drills and learn to get into some arm balancing poses (Crow pose, Side Crow, Lotus Lift) to challenge your inner power 🕉️💫

Hi everyone,

I’m Fion, an 850 hours certified senior yoga teacher in Ely. I’ve been teaching yoga for 12 years and currently teaching at Fresh., the Hive and the Paradise Centre.

I’d like to invite you to try my new Yin yoga class, suitable for beginners as well as other levels of experience on every Wednesday 12-1pm at Fresh.

Yin yoga is a slow, floor based, contemplative style of yoga where poses are held for 3-5 minutes to stress the deep connective tissues. Ideal for people who like to improve their mobility, increase flexibility and calm the mind by promoting a meditation state of awareness and stillness through breathwork and meditation.

🕉️ Suitable for ALL levels

Come and join Fion for a grounding and slow-paced practice that cultivates a deep sense of awareness through the release of mind and body stresses. An antidote to urban life, Yin focuses on releasing the connective tissues (tendons, ligaments and fascia) of the body. Poses are held for 3-5 mins, allowing you to relax as you settle into stillness.

This practice emphasises mindfulness, internal awareness, breathwork and finding a meditative state within the pose. It promotes deep relaxation, relieves tension, increases mobility and provides an opportunity for emotional balance and restore your nervous system.

Fion’s Bio

Fion was born and brought up in Hong Kong (HK), a highly populated, fast paced and busy city, which was a British colony until 1997. She has moved to UK with her family in 2016 and started teaching yoga in Ely, Cambridgeshire.

Fion was 800 hours trained and qualified. She completed her 200 hours fundamental yoga teacher training in International Yoga Academy in HK in 2014, followed by 300 hours advanced Hatha yoga teacher training under the guidance of Master Yogananth Andiappan. She then furthered her studies with 200 hours of yoga therapy in Asana Andiappan Yoga College in Chennai India in early 2016. She was also certified on Pregnancy yoga in Camyoga and Yin yoga in Mokshala Yoga Centre in UK. She immediately noticed the balance and peace yoga has brought to her body, mind and spirit with regular practice and learning. She would like to share her passion & knowledge and influence people to practice regularly, enjoy and realize the benefits that yoga can bring to oneself mentally and physically.

She was an assistant coordinator, volunteer teacher and project manager for Andiappan Yoga Community (AYC) in 2015-16, which is a non-profit, fully volunteer organization where teachers are committed to share yoga with others as a service to disadvantaged people in the community in HK. She taught low income families – parents, children and overseas workers in various locations.
