Today, the 19th September pharmacies across the UK will be taking part in a second day of action against NHS underfunding. It comes as pharmacies are experiencing severe financial problems and are working under huge pressure.

In England , 1,400 pharmacies have closed in the last 10 years.

We are taking part in this second “One Day to " day of action. We want to draw attention to the ongoing underfunding that has put unbearable pressure on community pharmacies.

We shall be turning our pharmacy lights out on the morning of 19th September, and, our staff will be wearing black to illustrate the dark times that our pharmacy network is currently experiencing. Our patients are invited to sign a petition in the pharmacy, calling on the government and Dept of Health officials to support and sustain pharmacies.

Despite the symbolic action we are taking, our pharmacy will remain open throughout the day to serve our patients and the wider community as usual.

This is a day to bring community pharmacies and the public together.

The main vaccination groups are adults over 65, and adults in the clinically at risk group and frontline health and social workers.
