After the fast pace & jam-packed schedules that the summer season brings, autumn invites us to take a step back & reflect.

On a physical level, our energy reserves post-summer can feel depleted, and there are so many proven benefits to taking a more relaxed approach to life before the darker months come.

On a mental level, this seasonal shift offers us a natural opportunity to reconnect with our nervous system. Research shows that intentional breathing practices during transitional periods can help regulate cortisol levels and support our body's natural adaptation to change.

1️⃣ The way your body looks when you're breathing ~ We're far to busy making sure that we're keeping an eye on you for your safety, you flair those ribs!

2️⃣ Whether you fell asleep or not during the class ~ Some people find breathwork deeply relaxing & often drift off for a moment or two mid-class. That just means your mind was able to switch off, congrats.

3️⃣ If you don't 'get it' on your first go ~ It's called a breathwork 'practice' for a reason, no one is good at anything the first or even second time they do it!

4️⃣ That you're not breathing "perfectly" ~ It’s okay if your inhale wobbles or your exhale’s uneven. Breath isn’t meant to be flawless, just natural.

5️⃣ If you get emotional or cry during the session ~ Tears, laughter, anger - they all get invited to the party. We’re not shushing feelings here! This is a totally natural response.

Use your breath for anytime & anywhere you need it 🫁

You can train your brain to train YOU to breath well, did you know that? (psst... we recently wrote a blog on it, head to our website to read it!)

By breathing 30% less than you think you need, especially during rest (watching TV, in bed before sleep, sitting at your desk), your brain will start to learn that less air is safe & more effective, and in time, the breathlessness will diminish.

This is where the MAGIC happens… ✨

It's counterintuitive, but when you train your body & brain to feel safe with less air, everything starts to shift.

Your nervous system calms.
Your brain gets the oxygen it needs.
