Today in clinic, our Occupational Therapist and young person got stuck into a fun (and very tasty!) activity, making Easter cornflake cakes π«π₯£π£
The session focused on following a sequence of instructions, with the young person working step-by-step to weigh ingredients, mix them together, and create their own chocolate treats. Using a visual recipe helped support independence and confidence in completing each stage π£β¨
Along the way, we were also developing important skills:
β¨ Fine motor skills through mixing, scooping and decorating ποΈ
β¨ Proprioception through pouring, stirring and handling ingredients πͺ
β¨ Independence in sequencing and completing a multi-step task π§
And of course, one of the best parts, a big boost in self-esteem from successfully creating something from start to finish ππ
A brilliant session full of learning, confidence building, and a few yummy Easter rewards at the end! π°π¬π₯πΌ
