At Murrayfield Care Home , we had an incredible day celebrating with our residents, families, friends, and staff during our annual BBQ!🍔

Every staff member came together from all departments to create a memorable experience. Residents, families, staff, and children enjoyed a day filled with delicious cultural food and fantastic entertainment provided by our talented singers, William and Ellisha, who treated us to the greatest hits. The various shops around allowed everyone to browse and find something special, sparking joy and dancing among residents. Children had a blast on the bouncy castle and enjoyed refreshing slushies. We held a raffle that raised £160 for the home, and everyone had such a wonderful time that many suggested we do it every day!

A huge thank you to everyone involved — without your support, our summer fete wouldn’t have been such a success! 🎉🌞

Last week, we took full advantage of the beautiful weather! We enjoyed a day trip to the pub where residents savored drinks and lunch. They even had the chance to visit the shops for some shopping. Everyone was highly engaged and thrilled to shop after such a long time away! 🛍️🌞

Yesterday, we enjoyed an incredible performance that filled the room with joy! Our talented singer Victoria from Let Twist Again visited us to serenade everyone with beloved classic hits. Residents sang along, danced, and shared plenty of laughter! 🎤💃🎶

On Wednesday, June 25th, we commemorated Armed Forces Day with our residents. ☺️

It was a wonderful opportunity to learn about both the British and American Armed Forces through YouTube videos and some iconic wartime music, including tunes by Vera Lynn. One of our residents, Mehmet, shared his dream of becoming a soldier and military tank driver. He was thrilled when I presented him with a model of a military tank, eagerly discussing the war while admiring it.🎶

🌞 Celebrating International Picnic Day in style! We headed to the local park for a delightful day filled with sandwiches, snacks, and refreshing drinks. 🥪🥤 There’s nothing better than enjoying great company, listening to music, and having a good chat under the beautiful sun. Here’s to making memories! 🍉🎶

A Beautiful Moment with Nedylka 🎶❤️

Nedylka Velichkova was full of joy as she played the piano and sang along. In her youth, she had a deep love for music and playing the piano, something that clearly still brings her happiness today.

It was such a meaningful moment, reminding us how powerful and comforting familiar activities can be, even after many years. Her connection to music is still very much alive, and it was a joy to witness. 🌟🎹
