We have been celebrating Gardening Week here at Murrayfield Care Home with a lovely visit to our local community garden, and it was such a refreshing trip for everyone 💜

Our wonderful residents really enjoyed walking around, taking in all the greenery and seeing what was growing. There was plenty of interest as we picked some fresh vegetables together, already imagining them being turned into something delicious for our next meal 🌱🥕

It is always special seeing produce so fresh and full of life, and it sparked lots of chat about gardens from years gone by and favourite things to grow at home. Simple moments like this really do bring people together 💜

April didn’t feel like one big moment across our homes, but lots of smaller ones and that’s what made it so special 💜

There were Easter crafts, feasts, time spent outside as the weather picked up, and plenty of conversations sparked along the way. We also took time to recognise Autism Acceptance Week and Parkinson’s Awareness Week, creating space to learn, reflect and support one another.

St George’s Day brought a bit of fun and familiarity too, with simple touches that made people smile 🏴

It’s these everyday moments that shape life in our homes, not just the celebrations, but the time spent together in between.

We had such a fantastic day in our home with a lovely jazz session that brought everyone together 🎶💜

Our lovely residents gathered in the lounge, following along with a jazz music book and joining in with some well loved songs. There was a real buzz in the room, with smiles, toe tapping and a few sing along moments that had everyone feeling part of it 😊

It was such a warm, social afternoon, the kind where conversations flow easily and the music brings back memories. A truly feel good moment shared together.

On Mother’s Day at our care home, the morning began with a buzz of excitement as residents and their families gathered to celebrate the incredible women in our community. The lounge had been beautifully prepared for the occasion, filled with colourful decorations, fresh flowers, and a welcoming atmosphere that immediately made everyone feel part of something special 🌼

The day came alive with live entertainment that had everyone clapping along and singing to familiar tunes. Our lovely residents tapped their feet and swayed to the music, while some shared a dance with family members, creating joyful moments full of laughter and connection. The room was filled with smiles as stories and memories were exchanged, and the sound of cheerful conversation added to the festive spirit🎶💃

Families joined in the fun, gathering around tables laden with delicious snacks and treats. It was a time to pause, relax, and enjoy one another’s company, sharing smiles over cakes, pastries, tea, and soft drinks. 📚✨ A Wonderful World Book Day Celebration ✨📚

Today we were delighted to celebrate World Book Day here in our care home with a very special visit from the lovely children at Meridian Water School. The children spent time with our residents in the lounge and in residents’ rooms, sharing stories and reading together, bringing the magic of books to life for everyone. It was a lovely moment where generations came together through storytelling, laughter and meaningful conversation across our home💜📚

Our lovely residents really enjoyed listening to the stories and spending time with the young visitors, while the children loved sharing their favourite books and brightening everyone’s day. Moments like these show how powerful reading and connection can be, creating smiles and memories for both our residents and the pupils who visited 📖✨

A big thank you to the wonderful pupils and staff from Meridian Water School for taking the time to visit and help make our World Book Day celebration so special. We look forward to welcoming you again soon for more stories, smiles and shared moments together💜📚
