I post one or two videos a week so if you have a particular request you'd like such as if you're a runner or someone who weight trains plays football or a practice to help improve flexibility strength or simply to give you a gentle practice to help relieve stress....

Below is a detailed list of poses we practice in this short 10 min Bedtime practice 👇

Opening posture
Reclined tepee:Constructive Rest Pose Variation a beautiful calming posture to help us feel grounded and focus on our body internally to help us start our practice by relaxing our body calming our mind and our nervous system which creates a beautiful foundation for the start of a gentle practice before bedtime 🌙

Wind-Relieving pose:
A relaxing variation to help calm our nervous system which we let the magic of this variation drawing two knees or one into the tummy, we do both variations, also by keeping the back of the head on the floor to prevent strain this helps us to focus on the digestive and spinal benefits that this posture has to offer. A gentle compression that massages our internal organs which applies gentle pressure to the abdomen to help release trapped gas and relieve bloating.

Supine spinal twist:
***Please note you should avoid aggressive, sudden, or forceful spinal twisting movements if you have a slipped disc or sciatica, as this can worsen nerve compression and increase the risk of re-herniation.***
A beautiful detoxing posture cleansing our internal organs. I sometimes say imagine a dirty wet cloth you twist it from both ends draining out all the dirty water this is similar to what this beautiful twist does it twists and drains out all the tension massaging our organs helping blood flow and relieve trapped gas, so beneficial to our digestive system and gut health.

Happy Baby:
This pose feels so good you literally can feel your spine relax once you find a comfortable position without over reaching to hold onto the feet so make sure to hold lower down like your ankles or back of the knees to let your spine completely relax with no curving. This improves circulation to the digestive organs. Helps reduce stress and anxiety, which often has a negative effect on our digestion and along with the gentle pressure and stretching which again massages our intestines which helps move gas through the digestive tract, reducing bloating and discomfort.
Also helps improve better sleep by helping you relax and release tension in your hips and lower back before bed.

Windshield wiper movement variation:
Great for hip mobility and improving spinal mobility while reclined, lie on your back with your knees bent, feet wide apart, and arms out this creates a gentle spinal twist that can improve spinal stability and strengthen the core, while also helping to improve our digestion and promoting relaxation before sleep.

Bound angle pose, or Supta Baddha Konasana:
The most amazing deep relaxation pose that calms our nervous system, stimulates our internal organs improving circulation to our abdomen provides a holistic approach to well being that supports healthier sleep patterns.

Legs up the wall pose or Viparita Karani:
Saving the best to last to send you off to bed feeling like you're floating on clouds
😶‍🌫️
》A beautiful pose filled with benefits...
Improves circulation allowing bodily fluids trapped in our legs to flow and help circulation which in return helps reduce swelling in our feet ankles and legs.

》This increased blood flow helps with our digestive system by promoting relaxation and lymphatic drainage.

》This pose if you let brings us to a state of deep relaxation, which can calm the body mind and spirit reducing stress, and ease feelings of anxiety.

Sciatica pain and discomfort is very common and so many who come to yoga with sciatica find yoga helps because it stretches and strengthens the core, lower back, and glute muscles, which can decompress the spine and relieve pressure on the sciatic nerve.

There are obviously poses to avoid or modify when practicing yoga, poses, such as deep spinal twists or forward bends that may cause sharp pain, as they can irritate the sciatic nerve. You must inform your teacher before you practice.

Always listen to your own body yoga teachers are there to help guide you through a safe practice but we cannot physically feel what you are feeling it's your body so you need to listen to your own body learn what works and what does not work what feels good what doesn't.

You need to know when you need to modify or make adjustments with help and guidance if you're a complete beginner or if you're an experienced yogi to know when to make these adjustments yourself.

What works for others including your teacher may not work or feel good for you so its so important to listen to your body and get to know your own body, like I said teachers are there for guidance but its your body so only you can feel whats going on to know when you need to change position modify and to make adjustments to personalise your practice to suit your body's needs.

Always inform your instructor of any conditions as this will make sure you practice safely and get the best benefits from your practice
☯️☮️✨️🧘🏻‍♀️🧘🏽‍♂️

These 7 simple poses target the tight muscle that often causes sciatic pain: the piriformis.

Happy September

***Fun fact***
Using the meteorological calendar, autumn begins on 1 September, however, astronomically, autumn in the Northern Hemisphere starts with the autumnal equinox, which in 2025 will be 22 September 🍂🍁🪾

But either way it feels pretty chilly leafs are slowing starting to fall so this wee quote is so true

With the change of seasons upon us, this is a great time to let go of any burdens you’ve been carrying with you. Fall is a time for letting go, for accepting the impermanence of things and reflecting on what is.

“Letting go gives us freedom, and freedom is the only condition for happiness. If, in our heart, we still cling to anything – anger, anxiety, or possessions – we cannot be free.” – Thich Nhat Hanh,

If you haven't already go check it out
I post yoga practices, and fun yoga content
All this content is for FREE
Support my channel and help it grow if you are interested or enjoy yoga click the subscribe button for FREE to stay tuned for weekly yoga content

A question I got asked, why am I posting free content 🤔

1. Because I want to and because its fun
2. I could ask why others post content of their skills on other social media platforms ie tiktok etc but I don't why should i ? because that's their choice they share their skills and amazing talents on other platforms so good for them I'll share mine on my preferred platform which is youtube
3. Because yoga is a practice everyone should have access to for physical mental and emotional health and well-being
4. It's a platform that i can share longer video content on for free
5. I am exploring a whole new creative style of practicing yoga that has helped me build my own personal confidence to teach in a completely new way by transitioning from in-person to online instruction which involves a shift in technical skills and pedagogical approaches that I continue to learn as i post each video.
6. By no means am I a pro at online instruction like I mentioned i am learning as i go, the most experienced teachers or in any profession for that matter, continue to learn everyday, you don't do a course and teach for 20 + years and call yourself an expert that you know it all because thats just not possible, yes we build on knowledge and wisdom and those with many years experience will have cultivated so much over the years but everything evolves and changes in life and we adjust and adapt and continue to learn throughout our life.

"A relevant quote is from Shunryū Suzuki, stating, "In the beginner's mind, there are many possibilities; in the expert's mind, there are few". This sentiment suggests that teachers who believe they know everything become rigid and closed off to new learning and possibilities, whereas embracing a beginner's mindset allows for continued growth, humility, and a fresh perspective for both the teacher and the students."

I am sharing something positive for everyone to experience with the choice to watch and try for themselves or not.

I am not an expert I will always embrace the beginners mindset because I am open to growth ✨️
