2026 Every Step Counts Challenge
As we enjoy the last few days of the Christmas and New Year break, now is the time to sign up for our 2026 Every Step Counts Challenge which starts this coming Wednesday, 7 January.
This is open to all and we want everyone to come together in January to step it out for both club and community, but most importantly for themselves so we can all begin to feel the benefits movement and social connection can bring.
The challenge is divided across four provinces, the goal is for our club to collectively track 4,000km (approx. the distance around Ireland).

For everyone who hits a personal and tracked 200km target on the app, they will be entered into a club draw for a £100 Experience Enniskillen voucher. Draw will take place at the end of the challenge.
If we collectively achieve the target, the bonus is that we will be included in the Irish life GAA prize draw. There are three donations of €2,500 to give away per province.

What you need to do:
Download the MyLife by Irish Life from the App Store or Google Play for free, and follow the steps.
Select Ulster as your province and then look and find Devenish St Mary’s and join the challenge.
Track your activity with a fitness wearable (e.g. Fitbit) or fitness app (e.g. Samsung Health for Android or Apple Health for iPhone) connected to the MyLife app
Only activity from when you join the challenge will count towards your total on the leader board so please do your best to register now so your steps are tracking from Wednesday.

Please spread the word and please help others who would like to be involved but need a hand with registering or linking their tracker as only tracked steps count.
No matter how big or little your intentions may be this January, remember EVERY step counts.

Dinner Dance
We are delighted to invite all members, supporters and friends to the Devenish GAA Dinner Dance taking place on Friday, February 20th in the Dulrush Lodge.
More details will be released in the coming weeks. Save the date - it’s a night not to be missed!

Lotto
The lotto jackpot wasn’t won last week and rolled over to £7,000. Numbers drawn were 7, 13, 15 and 25.
Lucky dip winners: £20 - Stephen Doherty and Josephine O'Brien; £10 - A&J Freeburn and Mervyn Latten.

👏As we approach the end of Week 1 in our Every Step Counts Challenge, we have collectively clocked a very healthy 2,780km in steps and are hovering in the Top 30 of the Ulster Club Leader Board 🙌

Still plenty of time to get involved and to help push the overall club and community effort up the leader board. To help, we have answered some of the queries asked of us this week:

🔵 Do all my steps count or just the ones when I go for an actual walk, jog, run, etc?
Yes, every step counts. Make sure you are using a fitness wearable, either a physical tracker or by having your phone on you.
🔵Why are my steps not tracking or not showing?
You need to make sure you are signed up to the challenge (see below), that you are wearing your fitness wearable - tracker or phone - and that you are connecting your apps correctly.
To Connect (your Fitbit, Garmin, Apple Health or Google Health) to MyLife, tap Track < Trackers < Select your tracker < Tap Connect. Then log into your tracker as above eg Fitbit or Google Health, and ensure you allow steps, activities and distance to be shared with MyLife. Refresh your Fitness app if you think your steps are not automatically showing.
🔵Why are Strava runs not showing as steps?
They should be. And these will give the collective club and community effort a super boost. This is either because you are not signed up or not properly connecting your apps. Go in to the MyLife App, the Ulster Challenge, find Devenish and check you can see your name. If you can’t see your name, follow the sign up guide below. If you can see your name but cannot see your steps, try the Connect steps above.
🔵How do I sign up?
Download the MyLife by Irish Life from the App Store or Google Play for free, and follow the steps. Select Ulster as your province and then find Devenish St Mary’s and join the challenge. Track your activity as above with a fitness wearable such as a Fitbit or Garmin or fitness app wearable via your phone such as Apple or Google Health connected to the MyLife app.

Keep tracking and get yourself a chance to win a £100 Experience Enniskillen voucher.
