My regulars already know, but I thought I’d write a post to tell everyone what’s going on. Just over 3 weeks ago I was up a ladder and it slipped. I don’t remember how I landed but I was in a lot of pain. I ended up at A&E, had both shoulders X-rayed and was sent home. They said my left humerus (by the shoulder) was fractured in 3 places and my right side was fine. I was unable to move either shoulder and had to be fed, washed and clothed because I couldn’t do anything by myself. Just over a week later I had to call 111, I complained that my right shoulder felt worse than my broken left one. So to me that means there must be muscle/tendon damage since the bone is fine. 111 said to just wait for my follow up fracture clinic appointment. At my fracture clinic app I had new X-rays taken. The doctor starts talking to me about my broken right shoulder and I say don’t you mean the left one? He said they are both broken, A&E didn’t read my X-ray correctly. So I am currently nursing 2 broken arms (by the shoulder) and will be out of action for quite some time. Thanks for reading this long message and I will keep you updated.
