This morning we got our brains working with our favourite word game, How many words can you make out of..... Todays word was WINTER OLYMPICS. Fiona (Lifestyle Lead) gave us a goal of 100 words to win a prize each, so of course the residents were up for the challenge and yes they reached it.

Today we had the delightful animals from Browells Wood Pet Therapy Mack Entertainment to visit us. We had Millie the dog, 2 chickens, 2 rabbits, 2 guinea pigs and a kitten. Residents enjoyed holding them and stroking them and talking about the pets they used to have. A lovely afternoon for reminiscing and a social aspect. We look forward to their next visit next month

As the Winter Olympics start, we decided to have our own sports afternoon yesterday, we may not of had the snow but we had the balloons and fly squatters at the ready.🏸🎾🏆
Balloon badminton went down so well, there was so much laughter and fun.

Today was our first rehearsal for our choir🎼. Residents gathered with Malindi from Mack Entertainment and we learnt 3 songs with all the actions. The residents and lifestyle team had a great morning and will be practicing regulary during the week ready for our next rehearsal with Malindi next Wednesday. Our show will be on Wednesday 11th March. Details to follow soon. Present Stage CIC

Hi everyone! My name’s Matt and I’m really excited to introduce myself as your new Home Manager at Priory Court, starting on Monday 9th February.

I’m looking forward to getting to know as many of you as possible as my journey begins here. I’ve worked in care for the past 14 years, with just over 10 of those in management roles across a range of dementia and nursing care settings.

I’m excited to share my experience and work alongside such a dedicated team, supporting and building on the fantastic standard of care that I know Priory Court already provides. I can’t wait to meet you all and get started. My door is always open, so please feel free to say hello or have a chat anytime.

We’re absolutely thrilled to share that Mack Entertainment has been awarded a National Lottery grant to bring something truly special into care homes — and we’ve been chosen to be part of it! National Lottery Community Fund💛

This means five fun-filled choir rehearsals, bringing residents and willing staff together to sing, laugh, and make memories — all leading up to a fantastic final performance 🎤✨
No experience needed, just a love of music and a willingness to have fun!

We’ll be supported every step of the way by the fabulous Mindi from Mack Entertainment, who’ll be helping us find our voices and enjoy all the amazing benefits singing brings — from boosting mood and confidence to building connection and joy 💫

We have had a busy few days with flower arranging, aquapainting and jigsaws. these activities bring residents together for a social time and reminiscing. Talking about their favourite flowers. Our residents love to do craft activities and always waiting to see what is next on the planner for them to do.

Today we have said a very sad goodbye to our wonderful manager Rommel. To finish the week of goodbyes we had a sing along concert with Rommel being the star entertainer with residents and staff joining in. Residents had made cards with a heart picture from every resident in them along with gifts. Rommel you will be missed so much and we wish you well in your future job.

Today we gathered as a team to say a heartfelt farewell to our dedicated manager, Rommel, who will be leaving Priory Court on Friday 💙

He was celebrated with thoughtful gifts, a card, delicious food for everyone, and a truly magnificent cake made by our talented chef, Jerome 🎂👏 There were plenty of hugs, a few tears, and lots of love shared as we reflected on the impact Rommel has had on us all.

We wish you the very best of luck in your new job, Rommel — you’ll be greatly missed, but never forgotten. 🌟🤍

This week we have started to make our valentines display boards, hearts coloured in, covered in tissue paper, glitter and buttons. Art and crafts is a great activity were the residents get to chat whilst busy making things and everything they make is put on show around the home. ❤️🩷💖 Keep a look for them around the home.

What a wonderful afternoon we have had with Gary from . Gary sang songs which the residents joined in and danced to. Gary told us he was new to singing in care homes but was fantastic. We can't wait to book him again soon.🎶🎶🎶
