🌟 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐰 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐰 🌟
What a month! Here’s a look at some of what we’ve been up to in July…
🫶🏻 𝐖𝐞 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐚 𝐂𝐈𝐂!
Grow and Glow is now a registered Community Interest Company. This is such an exciting step that opens new doors for funding, growth, and sustainability – all while keeping our purpose at the heart of everything we do. We’ve come so far in just over a year, and we’re only just getting started.
🫶🏻 𝐖𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐚 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐲 𝐇𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝗪𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥, where Charley hosted a talk about Grow and Glow and the power of peer support. She was joined by Kate, one of our Guildford group attendees, who bravely shared her experience of coming to sessions and the difference it’s made in her life. We were so proud of her, and the room was full of love.
🫶🏻 𝐖𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐨 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐀𝐧𝐝𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐧’𝐬 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐛 – we always have such a laugh with those guys, and it’s powerful to stand side-by-side showing how important mental health support is for both men and women in our communities.
🫶🏻 𝐖𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐠𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥, spreading the word about Grow and Glow to a brand-new audience. We chatted to festival-goers, made new connections, and enjoyed the sunshine while talking all things wellbeing.
🫶🏻 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐞𝐲 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐏𝐢𝐫𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐀𝐫𝐦𝐲 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞, where she spoke at the Athena Forum, a group supporting female service personnel. She shared how Grow and Glow started, the impact of peer support, and how we’re creating safe spaces for women across Surrey.
🫶🏻 𝐖𝐞 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐢𝐯𝐞, 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐝, hosted by Guildford Borough Council. It was a great opportunity to connect with other local groups, share what we do, and build meaningful new partnerships.
🫶🏻 𝐖𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩 – a long-standing champion of women’s health and wellbeing, and former Mayor of Guildford. It was an honour to have her join us in the circle and experience first-hand what Grow and Glow is all about.
🫶🏻 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐚 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭 – 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐞𝐲’𝐬 𝐝𝐨𝐠 (Bonnie)! Her calm, comforting presence brought a smile to everyone’s face and reminded us just how comforting animal companionship can be when we’re opening up and supporting one another.
🫶🏻 𝐖𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐨-𝐨𝐩 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐬, chatting about how we can work together to support women locally and raise awareness of what Grow and Glow offers. Thanks to the lovely Claire for making it happen. Exciting things to come!
🫶🏻 𝐀𝐧𝐝… 𝐁𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬, 𝐰𝐞’𝐯𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩 𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡 – with full backing from a local council who share our values. It’s been nearly 8 months of planning, but we believe in doing things properly, not quickly. Every group we launch deserves strong foundations and real care. We are expecting to launch late September! 🤩 Any guesses on our new location? 🤭🤫
Thank you to everyone who joined us, shared kind words, collaborated, or simply showed up in the circle this month. You’re part of what makes Grow and Glow what it is.
