Yesterday, our lovely facilitators Naomi from Epsom and Ami from Woking spent the day at G Live Connect, hosting a Grow and Glow stand and sharing what we do πŸ’¬

It was such a brilliant day, surrounded by so many local organisations, workshops, music, and activities, all coming together to celebrate community.

They had lots of meaningful conversations with people about connection, loneliness, and the importance of spaces where women can just turn up as they are.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to chat, share, and show interest in Grow and Glow 🫢🏻

And now to introduce our final facilitator on facilitator Friday- our founder Charley Moore 🫢🏼

πŸ’• without you there would be no circle, there would be no safe space for the women of all our groups to sit and share and lighten their load, there would be no light that the groups bring to us all each week.

On behalf of myself and all the women we thank you πŸ«ΆπŸΌπŸ’•

And we are here for you too, always!!!

It feels only right that we introduce the person behind Grow and Glow. Today we are introducing our founder, Charley. Grow and Glow exists because Charley wanted to create the kind of support she could not find when she needed it most. Here is what she shared about her experience. 🫢🏻

Hi, I am Charley.

Grow and Glow was created during a time in my life when everything felt heavy and overwhelming. I was struggling and trying to find support, but every option I found felt wrong for where I was. I needed somewhere I could turn up exactly as I was, without judgement, pressure, or expectation.

I searched for a women only peer support group and could not find one. So I created the space I needed.

I want to be really honest though. Creating Grow and Glow did not fix me. I still have my struggles and there are still hard days. This community was never about having it all figured out. It was about not being alone while figuring things out.

Alongside Grow and Glow, I work as a firefighter. Balancing that role with running these groups is not always easy, but it has shown me just how important spaces like Grow and Glow really are.

Grow and Glow started with no big plan. Just a need. I did not know if anyone would come or if it would work. But women walked through the door and they kept coming back. What began as one small group in Epsom has grown into a community built on honesty, understanding, and shared experience.

If you are reading this and wondering whether to come along, please know this. You do not need the right words. You do not need to explain yourself. You are welcome exactly as you are. 🫢🏻

🌻We're now over half way through winter (according to the meteorological calendar) so this is your reminder to keep going. Spring will soon be here with its blooming of colours and the gentle kiss of sunshine that we've all been missing over the last few months.🌷

Connection does not always look like having the right words.
Sometimes it looks like sitting quietly with a cup of tea.
Sometimes it looks like listening.
Sometimes it looks like turning up even when everything feels heavy.

Grow and Glow is a weekly peer support group for women.
A space to talk, listen, or simply sit with others who understand.

No pressure to share.
No expectations.
Just women supporting women.

We run every Wednesday evening across Surrey.
You are always welcome to come along at your own pace.

Facilitator Friday and this time it’s my turn πŸ’•πŸ«ΆπŸΌ
I’m absolutely honoured to be a facilitator for Grow and Glow Epsom and to be able to hold such a space such as Grow and Glow for women just needing that space to be free to be able to share and feel seen heard and not judged 🫢🏼

✨ Facilitator Friday ✨

Today I would love to introduce Naomi, one of our very first facilitators and a core part of our Epsom Grow and Glow group. Naomi has been part of the Grow and Glow journey from the early days and brings so much care, strength, and understanding to the women she supports. 🫢🏻

She is always putting others first, whether that is facilitating the Epsom group or being there for the other facilitators.

Here is what Naomi shared about her experience.

Hello, my name is Naomi. I am a mum to five boys, a nanny to two, and a wife to be. I am also a facilitator at our Epsom Grow and Glow group, although this is not how my Grow and Glow journey began.

I joined Grow and Glow because of the road my life has taken. I am a domestic violence survivor and I live with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, anxiety, depression, abandonment issues, and fibromyalgia. These are things I deal with every day, particularly fibromyalgia, which brings many challenges.

For a long time I kept my feelings locked away and felt myself slipping into another period of depression. I began searching for a private therapist so I could talk freely without feeling like I was placing the weight of my experiences onto friends and family.

While searching, I came across a post on Facebook for a women only peer support group called Grow and Glow. I took it as a sign and decided to attend.

Walking in for the first time was terrifying and I nearly turned back, but I pushed myself through the door. What I found was a breath of fresh air. Listening to other women share, knowing I was not alone, and feeling heard and understood without judgement meant everything to me.

As the weeks went by, Grow and Glow began to feel like home. After a conversation with Charley, I was offered the chance to become part of the facilitator team. I jumped at the opportunity and I am so grateful to be part of something so special.

I still attend as a woman who shares her struggles and I continue to feel supported by every member of the group. Thank you for taking the time to listen. I will return that care when you need to be heard too. 🫢🏻
