A scan report can sometimes include terms that sound worrying or unclear.

If the womb appears heterogeneous on ultrasound, it may suggest conditions such as adenomyosis or the presence of fibroids. These are two of the more common reasons we see changes in the muscle texture of the womb.

Understanding what these findings mean is an important step in assessing fertility and planning the right care.

If you’ve received scan results you don’t fully understand, speaking to a specialist can help bring clarity 💜

This is a HyFoSy scan, used to check whether the fallopian tubes are open.

A gentle foam contrast allows us to clearly see the tubes in real time, helping us understand whether there are any blockages affecting fertility.

It’s a simple but essential investigation. Because knowing whether the tubes are open allows us to make informed, accurate decisions about the next steps.

At CRP Clinic, clarity begins with precise diagnosis.

If you’ve been trying without answers, specialist assessment can help identify the cause 💜

One of the most common questions we’re asked about HyFoSy is whether it’s painful.

Most patients tolerate the procedure well, and we always advise taking simple pain relief beforehand to help minimise discomfort.

For additional comfort, we also offer Penthrox. A fast-acting pain relief option often compared to gas and air, which helps make the procedure significantly more comfortable.

Patient comfort is a priority at every stage, and the feedback we receive about HyFoSy at CRP Clinic has been overwhelmingly positive.

If you’ve been putting off investigations because of fear or uncertainty, speak to our team to understand what to expect and how we support you throughout 💜

“About 70% of couples are told we can’t find a reason. Just try again.”

For many experiencing recurrent miscarriage, the explanation is simply bad luck.

But as Professor Shehata explains in Episode 100 of The Big Travel Podcast, in some cases there may be an underlying immune factor, including the role of natural killer cells.

Pregnancy is normally protected by the immune system. When that system is dysregulated, it can sometimes work against it.

Recurrent loss isn’t always without cause 💜

A CRP Patient Story 💜

Our lovely patients shared their story after a long and painful journey through infertility and miscarriage.

“After a long and painful journey of infertility, miscarriages, fear and endless tears, Professor Shehata gave me hope when I had almost lost everything.

My fertility journey was full of heartbreak and failed attempts. I almost gave up hope. But I was treated not just as a patient, but as a person who was suffering deeply. Every decision was explained. Every fear was addressed. I always felt safe in their hands.

Today, I am a proud mother to a beautiful son. I am holding my precious son in my arms. Professor Shehata didn’t just treat me, they changed my life. Forever grateful.”

Recurrent miscarriage is not something you simply have to accept. In many cases, there is an underlying cause.

If you are experiencing repeated loss or failed IVF, specialist investigation can make a difference. 💜

Behind every fertility plan that moves forward with clarity…there is meticulous clinical coordination.

Detailed history reviews.
Carefully timed investigations.
Cross-checking results.
Ensuring subtle patterns are not overlooked.

Much of this work happens behind the scenes. But it is often the difference between “everything looks normal” and identifying what truly needs attention.

Fertility care is not just about prescribing treatment. It is about precision. Sequence. Clinical judgement.

At CRP Clinic, every stage of your journey is managed with intention and thoroughness - because small details can carry significant meaning.

If you are still searching for answers, a structured, specialist-led review may be the step that changes direction. 🫂

Blocked fallopian tubes can be a hidden cause of fertility issues.

Often there are no symptoms.
No warning signs.
Yet tubal patency is essential for natural conception.

One of the key steps in a thorough fertility assessment is confirming whether the tubes are open and functioning properly.

At CRP Clinic, we perform this using a HyFoSy scan - a specialised ultrasound procedure in which a gentle foam contrast is introduced into the uterus. This allows us to clearly visualise whether the fallopian tubes are open in real time.

In this case, both tubes were open - a reassuring result that allows us to move forward with clarity and confidence.

Importantly, in some women, the procedure itself can have a therapeutic effect. If there is minor debris or a very small blockage, the passage of the foam may help to clear it. While this is not guaranteed and should not be considered a treatment in itself, it can occasionally improve tubal flow.

Accurate investigation matters.
Because understanding the cause is the first step toward choosing the right pathway forward.

If you are trying to conceive and have not had a full tubal assessment - or you are still without clear answers - a specialist evaluation can provide meaningful insight 💜

Six losses.
A young couple.
And still no clear explanation.

They had been told variations of the same words many patients hear:
“Everything looks normal.”
“Try again.”

But recurrent miscarriage is not something you simply accept without deeper investigation.

When they came to CRP Clinic, Professor Shehata conducted a comprehensive review of their history and identified an underlying pathology that had not previously been diagnosed.

With targeted, evidence-based treatment in place, they are now 16 weeks into their pregnancy.

This is why thorough investigation matters.

Recurrent loss is often labelled as unexplained - but in many cases, the right questions have not yet been asked.

If you have experienced repeated miscarriage, and you are still without clear answers, it may be time for a specialist second opinion 💜

Behind every patient is careful clinical review.

Medical history, previous outcomes, test results, and the details that others may have overlooked are examined closely. Because finding answers requires more than assumptions.

It requires precision, experience, and time.

At CRP Clinic, every case is approached with the attention and clinical judgement it deserves.

Start your journey with a team that takes your care seriously 💜

When there are no clear answers, the silence can feel louder than anything else.

Why hasn’t it happened?
Why did it stop?
Why does every test come back as “normal” - yet nothing feels normal?

For many women and couples, the hardest part isn’t just the loss or the failed cycle.
It’s the uncertainty that follows. The sense that something is being missed. The quiet question: Is there more that could be investigated?

If you have experienced miscarriage, repeated IVF failure, or ongoing unexplained subfertility, feeling unsettled is not overthinking. It is a sign that you are searching for understanding.

You deserve:

A thorough review of your history
A deeper level of investigation
Clear, evidence-based explanations
Honest conversations about next steps

There are times when “everything looks normal” simply means the right questions haven’t yet been asked.

If you are still searching for answers, you do not have to navigate that uncertainty alone.

Born against the odds 🤍

This patient’s journey required careful monitoring at every stage.
Ultrasound scans played an important role in allowing our team to check progress, respond early, and adjust treatment when needed.

For anyone concerned about scan frequency, ultrasound is a very safe, non-invasive technique that uses sound waves rather than radiation and has been used in fertility and pregnancy care for decades.

Today, this journey ends with a healthy baby, and a family who found reassurance through careful, compassionate care.
