Some comments may seem harmless, but for someone navigating fertility challenges, they can land in a deeply painful place. Here are a few to steer clear of:

❌ “Maybe you’re just not meant to be a parent.”

Comments like this can extinguish hope. No one needs to be told their dream isn’t worth holding onto.

❌ “Just relax.”

If relaxation were the cure, fertility clinics wouldn’t exist. This phrase places blame where it doesn’t belong and dismisses real medical conditions.

❌ “Why don’t you just adopt?”

Adoption is meaningful and beautiful, but it’s not simple, quick, or a replacement for someone’s desire to carry a pregnancy. It deserves more respect than being offered as a casual alternative.

❌ “Everything happens for a reason.”

We wouldn’t say this to someone facing any other medical struggle. Fertility challenges deserve the same compassion and sensitivity.

💛 Sometimes the kindest thing isn’t offering a solution, it’s offering space, empathy, and the assurance that you’re there to listen.

💔 Hearing “not pregnant” can be devastating.

After a cycle, it’s normal to feel a mix of emotions. While it’s difficult, it’s important to take time to acknowledge where you are and consider what you’re ready for next.

If you feel ready to try again, your fertility doctor can guide you on when to start and what your chances might be.

If you’re unsure whether more treatment is right for you, or if you need support processing your feelings, speaking with a counselor can help.

And if you just need some reassurance, or someone to talk to in confidence - our DMs are open 📲💜

Some surprising facts most people don't know about male fertility:

📉 Male Fertility is a Shared Responsibility and Declines with Age
Male factor infertility is very common: Infertility is often mistakenly considered a female issue, but male factors contribute to approximately 40-50% of all infertility cases.

⌛ Men have a "biological clock" too: While men don't go through a sudden menopause, their fertility, specifically s***m quality, count, and motility, gradually declines with age.

👨‍💻 Heat is a significant factor: The testicles need to be a few degrees cooler than the rest of the body for optimal s***m production. Prolonged exposure to heat sources like hot tubs, saunas, heated car seats, and even laptops placed directly on the lap can temporarily reduce s***m quality.

🍕 Diet and weight matter: Obesity is linked to a significant decline in s***m quality. A healthy, antioxidant-rich diet can help, while processed food consumption can have negative effects.

There’s no single answer to “When should I try again?” and that’s okay. 💗

Every recovery looks different.
For some, one full cycle may be enough.
For others, emotional healing takes longer than the physical.

The most important thing?
You feel ready, physically, emotionally, and with support around you.

If you’re unsure when to try again, our team is always here to guide you at your own pace.

“Can stress cause infertility?”

It’s a question we hear often - and the short answer is no, stress doesn’t directly cause infertility.

However, high stress levels can sometimes disrupt ovulation or menstrual cycles, and can make the journey to conception feel more challenging - both emotionally and physically.

That’s why at CRP, we focus on both:
🩺 The medical reasons behind fertility challenges
💜 And the emotional wellbeing of every patient we see

If you’re worried stress might be affecting your fertility, our team can help identify what’s really going on - and support you through it.

This week marks International 🫂✨

Whether someone close to you is struggling - your partner, a friend, a relative, maybe even yourself, remember that support looks different for everyone. Sometimes it’s a quiet chat, a short walk, or simply taking your own advice for once.

When it comes to fertility, stress alone doesn’t cause infertility, but it can make the journey feel even harder. The emotional strain of trying, waiting, and hoping can take its toll, and that’s completely valid.

Taking care of your mind is just as important as taking care of your body. 💜
