I am a semi-retired midwife who began an interest in floristry approximately 3 years ago when a friend asked me to help her do some wreaths with her for a friend's funeral (we were complete novices). When my dad passed away last year from Covid, I decided to do his casket spray & wow! I found it so relaxing, therapeutic and it was the last thing I would be doing for him. It was a sunny day in Ma
y with the birds chirping in my back garden, I understood then why florists choose to work with flowers. I then began to train as a florist with Kay Flower School Ireland online which is a professional course. I thoroughly enjoy my training with this school. Prior to undertaking my training, I did all the arrangements I did as though I was doing them for myself and loved ones. Now with my extra knowledge and training my arrangements are even more lovingly done. I will not send an arrangement out if I wouldn't appreciate receiving it myself. I am a small business owner and all my arrangements are done with my clients at the forefront, ensuring that their requirements are met. I choose the name Hyacinth Blooms Florist because Hyacinth is actually my middle name, given to me by my biological dad who passed away 28 years ago. I wouldn't use my middle name growing up because I didn't like it. I was not able to do anything for my biological dad when he passed, so to honour him I've decided to use the name he gave with pride. I have been very blessed because I had two dads who loved me dearly and both of them have aided me in starting up this business and coming up with my business name. I will assist my clients during their happy and not happy times, blessing them with all the qualities and beliefs imparted to my by my mother, both dads (RIP both) and the fantastic training from Kays Flower School Ireland.
