Chrisโs Story: Taking on a challenge ๐๐ป
Chris took on one of the toughest endurance events in the UK, the Lakeland 100. He didnโt do it for medals or personal bests. He did it in memory of his friend Dominic, a much-loved dad, partner and friend who died after being cared for by Princess Alice Hospice.
The race is 105 miles, with nearly 21,000ft of elevation, and must be completed within 40 hours. What kept Chris going was knowing why he was running, and who he was running for, Dominic, and his family.
โItโs more than just a race. It would have been emotional enough, but the interest my charity page generated was overwhelming. Everyone was so invested and generous.โ
In the end, Chris raised ยฃ13,258 to support hospice care for others like Dominic. As we start a new year, Chrisโs story is a powerful reminder that sometimes the hardest challenges bring the most meaning.
๐ Thank you, Chris, your strength, kindness and determination will continue to make a difference.
๐ To help us continue providing the vital care our patients receive, you too could take on a challenge this year. Explore our charity events and challenges at www.pah.org.uk/events
